Great and very informative.
The author presents an interesting method of scoring and interpeting the TAT. I learned a lot of from it and highly recommend it to anyone trying to use this method both in the clinical practice as well as for other purposes.

An excellent and scientifically informed resource
The Handbook is an excellent and scientifically informed resource for practicing neuropsychologists.Each author is an expert in the field and they have assembled a wonderful complement to several other primary texts inthe field.This is a must-read / must-have for any practitioner or consumer of neuropsycholgical services.

Excellent Reference - a must have!
This is a terrific addition to the library of practicingneuropsycologists. The authors have really done their homework and it isclearly evident that they are excellent scholars. Each of the NP testsreviewed in this book (popularly used tests and some lesser known ones),which is by no means an exhaustive review of all NP tests, is a tour deforce of a literature review, a critical analysis, and recommendations. Thereader is struck by the huge amount of research that the authors did, andthe work that went into such integration. I don't think this normreference, however, can stand alone, notwithstanding its excellence, sinceit presents a selection of NP tests and does not try to be all inclusive.But rest assured that those tests discussed are presented comprehensively.Practicing neuropsychologists will also want Spreen & Strauss, ofcourse, as well as regular updated norms of other tests. But this text goesa long way in helping to solve the 'norms problem' in contemporary clinicalneuropsychology. It really is a must have!

Many thanks for an excellent SAT review book
I was very pleased with this book.It provided very thorough review and gave me a great deal of confidence for a test that was very nerve-racking.I felt more and more confident as I took the practice test and used the worksheets for my problem areas.I was very pleasantly surprised by my SAT score, and I have this book to thank.
Excellent book, if you have a lot of time to prepare.
Summary:
The best of them all
If you want to know why this book is so much better than the other thick SAT books out there, just go to your bookstore and leaf through them all.What's obvious right off the bat is that the McGraw-Hill book is for students who actually want to learn the stuff on the SAT and not just a few quick tricks.Take the practice tests here (what everyone says ius true-they are tougher than the real thing), and then use the detailed answer key to point you to the lessons you need to review.The lessons in this books arevery clear and WAY more thorough than the Princeton Review or Kaplan books.It has a great set of flashcards and the best vocab list of any book.But don't take my word for it.Go to your library or bookstore to compare, then buy it here ('cause it's cheaper).I used this book with the College Board "Official SAT Guide" for the October SAT, and my scores improved by 290 points overall.You can do it too without a $1400 Kaplan class! ... excellent resource
This book is a really great resource for learning behavioral analysis!It's really one of a kind and focuses on the underlying prinicples of behavioral analysis so that it will probably take a while to get outdated.

Assessment In-Depth
This comprehensive set of books is essential for the practicing psychologist as well as the clinical researcher. As a recent graduate and practicing psychologist, I refer to these books more than to the DSM! The volume on behavioral assessment was the most helpful, comprehensive, informative and best written of the set. Both theoretical as well as practical issues are dealt with in the majority of chapters. Overall it is a must read for all in the field. I highly recommend the behavioral assessment volume in this series.

Good overall, but won't help with interpretation
This is a good overall look at the psychometric properties of many of the leading assessment instruments.It does not, however, help much with regard to interpretation, so if you are going to need help interpreting tests, you will need to get the test manuals or interpretative guides.Also, having the leading proponents of the specific instruments present material for their tests leads to a biased description of the psychometrics.In the end, the clinician or researcher will still have to be able to look at the psychometric information and decide for themselves if a particular instrument is worth using. ... Confusing
I have used this book as a text for my Observation class for 3 semesters and I am finally switching to another one. Although on target in terms of developmental appropriateness, it is packed with too much information. Students do better with a text that covers fewer topics more thoroughly. Lots of charts that serve to either confuse or insult the intellegence of the student. Very difficult to outline main topics. We are switching to Observing and Understanding by Ahola. Much better price too! I will say that the instructor resourses in Week by Week are very helpful!

Very good tester
I purchased this book for my daughter less than a week before she was to take the New York City specialized test. She thought the book was harder than the actual exam! She got into Brooklyn Tech and we are very happy! I highly recommend this book.
