5-0 out of 5 stars Hypnotism:the thing that is not
"In many ways the concept of hypnosis is analogous to some other mysteries that have confused and confounded scientists in the past--such as phlogiston, the ether wind, and 'N-rays.'" Those are not hypnotism's only analogies.Decades after the Condon Report established that UFOs are misidentified mundane phenomena, the media encourage the ignoranti to believe that humanoid aliens are abducting human beings.A decade after James Randi's Project Alpha, the masses continue to believe in paranormal phenomena. And a decade after Robert Baker proved that "the phenomenon called 'hypnosis' does not exist, has never existed in the past, and will not exist in the future," the masses, whose only source of informationis the vast wasteland, continue to believe that 'hypnosis' is more real than demon possession or witchcraft.2-0 out of 5 stars Interesting, but lacking
Some of the book is enjoyable and insightful. However, much of it seems to merely argue semantics. Makes some good points, but is mostly lacking in substance. ... Read more

Just stop for a moment, and imagine you could listen to the master hypnotist Milton H. Erickson give descriptions and examples of applying hypnosis for change. Wouldn't it be great? In these 1981 audio tapes, thatis what you get. The details and examples that Erickson gives apply to theuse of hypnosis in any context, and he says as much at the start of theseminar. The sound quality is typical for seminar audio tapes recorded then- monaural w/slight hollow sound and tape hiss, but clear and distinct. Now, like me, if you're interested in persuasion, sales, NLP, hypnosis, andcommunication you already know Milton H. Erickson's incredible reputationfor inducing trance. Whether you want these tapes and book to help in yourefine your skills, because you want to hear Erickson's voice for yourself, are a student of the craft, or simply want to add to your collection, you'lldefeinately want to pick these up. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Photographs, diagrams, and extensive written detail
Secrets Of Dr. Zomb is the impressively engaging autobiography of the talented Ormond McGill (quite justifiably considered to be the "Dean of American Hypnotists"). Written by McGill to especially to share the magic of his life and trade with aspiring stage performers and hypnotists, Secrets Of Dr. Zomb uses photographs, diagrams, and extensive written detail to explain techniques for past-life regression, mind control, self-hypnosis, performing hypnosis on stage and much more. An enthralling and information-packed reading experience (especially for students of mesmerism and magic), the Secrets Of Dr. Zomb is one of the more unique memoirs and would grace any community library collection. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Along the lines of "Journey of Souls"
Much like Michael Newton, the hypnotherapist who's work led him to write "Journey of Souls", Michael Gabriel has written a similar book using the stories and data from many individuals he has regressed to a period before birth. Where Newton's book focuses on the time between lives, Gabriel's book focuses on the time in the womb and seem very careful not to stray too far into the land of reincarnation. This book is great for showing how aware the fetus is inside the womb. The end of the book has a great section on dealing with pre-birth issues and techniques for parents to communicate with their unborn child.

4-0 out of 5 stars psychological approach to pregnancy
This book gave me goosebumps the first time I read the narrations and intervews. The author cites evidence that some individuals have awareness of what things happened at their moment of conception. The author promoteshypnosis and levels of consciousness with great recommendations for parentstowards prenatal preparation for birthing. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Bible of non-EEG Biofeedback; a practitioner must-have
If you are going to get into biofeedback as a practitioner you really must have this book. It provides a wonderfully comprehensive, detailed picture of a wide range of biofeedback applications, modalities, issues and techniques. Edited and partially written by Mark Schwartz, founder of the Mayo Clinic Biofeedback program, and Frank Andrasik, both past presidents of AAPB (Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback,) the book offers an encyclopedic amount of information on themost frequently used forms of non-EEG biofeedback. It only has one chapter on EEG biofeedback-- though that one, by Joel Lubar, is an excellent. Even practitioners getting into work which focusses primarily on EEG should buy this book and include in their library, since it offers valuable perspectives on working with the kinds of clients/patients likely to be encountered. 5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Guide to Biofeedback Practice
Swartz and friends provide a thoughtful and extensive review of the history, methods, and applications of biofeedback practice. Primarily intended for health professionals, the book covers a variety ofdisorders/medical conditions that can be treated by biofeedback, andprovides detailed instructions as to how to treat each disorder. Schwartzhas been an integral figure in the development of professional standardsfor biofeedback practice as well, and the book also addresses this topic,as well as ethic issues. Has proven to be extremely helpful in training andpractice. Well written. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive
The book is not a fun read, dealing with research in a very technical and statistical way. Just the same, it meets the intent, providing a balanced and thorough profile of what is going on. There is something here for any interested person."An Ego-Psychological Theory of Hypnosis" by Erika Fromm was probably my favorite. "Dissociation and Theories of Hypnosis" by Ernest R. Hilgard was also quite good, as was "Hypnosis, Psychopathology, and Psychological Regression" by Michael R. Nash.Best of all, the book has writings from such a variety of authors that all should find something of value. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fascinating book on past life regression
I read this book in one or two days. It is simply fascinating! It's a story told by a psychiatrist, who, while conducting psychoanalysis with a troubled young lady, accidentaly uncovered her past lives. Her current problems in her relationships and health (she suffered from anxiety and depression) turned out to be rooted not to problems in her childhood but to problems and events of her previous lives. Catherine also discovered an amazing ability to talk to the "masters" when being hypnotized. The book is definitely worth the read! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars DE LO MEJOR QUE HE LEIDO

5-0 out of 5 stars Un libro lleno de mensajes maravillosos
Lazos de Amor es un libro maravilloso. Lo lei hace algunos anios y lo sigo comprando constantemente para regalarlo a la gente que aprecio. Lo recomiendo totalmente.

5-0 out of 5 stars Es lo mas hermoso que he leido...
GRACIAS DR. WEISS!!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic
This book is so full of common sense wisdom that you may wonder why you haven't heard it all before. Yet the approach is unique, especially on dealing with addictions. Also, the use of client generated metaphors and imbedded suggestions is very well explained and interesting. I probably have enjoyed this book as much as any on hypnosis. Very enlightening!

5-0 out of 5 stars Interesting
The chapter on addiction was unique. The approach taken about the addiction fad was different than other books I have read on the subject. While the book covers a wide range of hypnotherapy topics, including a very good chapter on metaphors as client controlled, the chapter on addictions alone would have made the book worthwile. It is a must read, and was a pleasant surprise to me-much more than I expected!

5-0 out of 5 stars sophisticated, philo- and psychologically based viewpoint
