5-0 out of 5 stars Tools to Make Your Dreams Come True
David Barron and Danek Kaus in "Power Persuasion" have provided an amazing strategy for helping you make your dreams come true. They provide step by step instruction, using many of the most powerful persuasion tools and techniques available. The book will show you how to influence people by developing the magical art of persuasion.
2-0 out of 5 stars Dissapointing, considering...
that David Barron has some excellent audio and video products. I was really expecting great things from David when I purchased this book, based on some of the other quality items I have of his. But there is nothing new hear in this very brief book that hasn't been covered more extensively in other NLP and sales related books such as Donald J. Moines' "Unlimited Selling Power," a must have for any sales person.

1-0 out of 5 stars Why not read Tony Robbins
I am utterly amazed. Much of this book is just a rewrite of Unlimited Power by Tony Robbins therefore other than as a quick recap on NLP, I see little use for it. The author should have at least given credit to Robbins rather that just simply trawling out his lines, virtually word for word....Even the example taken from Brian Tracy on the 3% who wrote down their goals has not been credited to Tracy........Waste of time ... 5-0 out of 5 stars You Cannot Practice Hypnotherapy Without this Seminal Work!
I am not going to write a great deal about this book. It speaks for itself and stands on its own. The Answer Within is also the answer that every practicing hypnotherapist must have. Must. 3-0 out of 5 stars An in-depth study of Ericksonian technique
"The Answer Within" is the single most exhaustive clinical text on the hypnotic techniques of the late Milton H. Erickson, M.D. and will prove to be a valuable resource in your study and practice of Ericksonian Hypnotherapy.I rated it three-stars only because it is extremely dry and tedious in places, and it presupposes an elementary understanding of psychotherapeutic technique. Not very user-friendly or pretty to look at, but simply superb in the coverage of the full spectrum of hypnotic skills and techniques that will mean the difference between you're simply becoming a COMPETENT Ericksonian Therapist and a YOU'RE BECOMING A MASTER.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars a primer to Ericksonian Hypnotheraphy
A lot of books have been written about Milton Erickson.I was introduced to Erickson's work through the work of Bandler and Grinder, now known as NLP (I got my NLP trainer certificate in 1996). This book doesn't cover the modern NLP as I know it, nor does it cover the work of Steven Gilligan, but apart from that it includes a brief overview of frameworks that explain Erickson's Therapy and Hypnosis (e.g. Haley, Rossi, Lankton, Zeig, etc).Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Book Every Hypnotherapist Should Read
The focus of this book is The Coopration Principle in Ericksonian Hypnotherapy.Gilligan first points out the differences between authoritarian method of using hypnosis, which was common before Erickson entered the picture and the permissive method, indirect hypnosis used by Erickson. The focus of the book is on what distinguishes Ericksonian hypnosis from traditional hypnosis, namely UTILIZATION of whatever state the client is in to help to liberate the client from the limitation that is at the core of the problem.
5-0 out of 5 stars Brilliant
This is a must-have book for anyone who uses Ericksonian principles in a therapeutic setting. The author has a profound grasp of the use of hypnotic techniques to bring about change.I would give this book 6 stars (*******) if that were possible.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must have
If you want to learn about Ericksonian hypnosis this is a must have. It covers major important skills that a hypnotherapist should have. most books out there justgive you techniques after techniques but this one does more, sharing the inside states, attitudes, beliefs a therapist should have. People just don't understand that it's not knowing the techniques that makes a great therapist but it's more of the characteristic and personality of the therapist that makes the techniques work. the same applies with all fields of interactional service. you will learn about flexibility and treat each client anew base on their needs and to be in the moment with the client and not recite scripted inductions like most schools teach you. this books sure is worth getting if you are seriously into hypnotherapy. It covers so much more important areas for a hypnotherapist that isn't emphasized in most schools. you'll learn more about being a hypnotherapist from this book then from any other book. Another cool thing about this book is that stephen is a great writer who is clear, concise and organized, not fluffy. i've gotten books from great hypnotherapist but was very dissapointed because they couldn't write. stephen isn't one of them. you can tell he cares about people learning about hypnosis and he don't hold back like most people. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent compliment to a professional training or pracitice
I am a trainer of NLP and Hypnosis and I have to tell you, I am thrilled with this book! The format of the whole book is superior to most manuals I have seen because the NLP and Hypnosis techniques are clearly outlined and listed, then a script follows to allow the students to have an idea of how it flows in a session. The other part that I really enjoyed was the inclusion of spirit detachment and astrology. I work with these techniques as well, but was never quite sure how to incorporate into a professional class. I really believe that this manual defines the future of how this information should be taught, and am excited to offer it in my classes and workshops.

5-0 out of 5 stars Like Spending Time with Erickson
Hope and Resiliency. Understanding the Psychotherapeutic Strategies of Milton H. Erickson, M.D." is a wonderful book.I had the sense while reading it that I was in Erickson's office and just listening to him talk. This is a consequence of an informal narrative style wherein the book contains many case studies, comments by Erickson, and comments by his daughters and Short.I have not seen some of these studies and commentaries before, and they shed a new and continuingly interesting light on this remarkable man and his works. There are gems like, "Let patients know that they are going to be cured and that it will take place within them."And "Often in psychotherapy a change of reference is all that is needed." and "Erickson's philosophy of healing was characterized by his attention to the goodness of the patient's mind and body.

Two distinct models of psychotherapy are emerging in the 21st century: the empirically based, programmed models and the strategic, humanistic models.Hope and Resiliency will emerge as one of the texts that epitomize the emerging strategic humanistic movements.

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME! WORKED IMMEDIATELY!
Right after reading the book I hypnotized my friend to think he was a duck. Then I made him think he was a cow. Then, after having a good laugh, I finally said he was an elephant. Boy, was that funny! He was acting like he was stuck and asked if I could find him a bigger room! Nothing can compare, this is amazing!
3-0 out of 5 stars my honest apprasal
I found this book seemed to accurate in pricable. however i think it would require you to work out your own take on the scripts and stage acts suggested because most of them are pretty lame and would'nt work on 90% of people for that reason. If you have the right personality and you are reltivly bright i think that what you learn in this book might teach you to hypnotise some one. This is only my percived opion from some one whos not a hypnotist. there seem to be alot people reviewing this book saying it not the first book on hypnotism you should buy. i think its fair to say as someone who did by this as there book on hypnoitism that its fine as a first book just expect to buy another if really want to learn the subject.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great scripting examples, average explanstion of hypnosis
As a Registered Hypno-Therapist, I would have to say that Master Secrets of Hypnosis and Self-Hypnosis is a relatively thorough, although dated, book.It does a good job of explaining the process of hypnosis and self-hypnosis but I would not say that it contains any particular "secrets".The book follows standard procedures and provides a great number of illustrative inductions and similar scripted information. It also goes out on a limb in some areas such as hypnotizing someone over the phone and similar.Standard hypnotists would have some problems with this and similar parts of the book, so take part of it with a grain of salt.5-0 out of 5 stars So excellent
Master Secrets of Hypnosis and Self Hypnosis was recommended by a friend.I think that it is the most excellent book.It reveals all of the secrets of how people are hypnotized and goes into detail of how to do self-hypnosis on yourself in order to help yourself. It details every way possible to hypnotize someone else, even to probe into another person's thoughts by making eye contact. I love this book.I recommend it highly for anyone wanting to know all about the secrets of hypnosis and I recommend it very much for anyone wanting to help themselves thrugh self hypnosis. It is the best.

1-0 out of 5 stars Old fashioned "You are under my power" hypnosis
The only good thing about this book is the hypnotic discs that come with it. Other than that, this book is a joke. May as well have been written 100 years ago. Typical voodoo witch doctor hypnosis wherein the client doesn'thave a clue what's being done to them. Don't waste your money. If you wantto learn hypnosis, there's a few good books out there. This is not one ofthem. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Clear, direct, and to the point -- Erickson made easy.
I wish I had discovered this book sooner.Having read Rossi, Bandler, Grinder, Gilligan, etc., and struggled to get through their overyly analytical obfuscations of Erickson's methods, I was delighted with this simply written, clear, and easy to follow text. The reason I didn't buy it sooner was that I had read his other book "Taproots" and found it too abstract and disappointing. What a long way the author has come since he wrote Taproots! He presents Ericksonian ideas in a way that is delightful to read, down-to-earth, and effortless to follow.O'Hanlon is an excellent teacher, especially for those of us who are jargon-ically challenged. My only gripe is the high cost of this rather brief volume.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Intro to Ericksonian hypnosis
This is an engaging and extremely readable introduction to Ericksonian Hypnotherapy. Profoundly less "technical manual" than the Grinder Bandler stuff, yet is certainly not dumbed down.5-0 out of 5 stars Very useful: as intro textbook or handbook

5-0 out of 5 stars incredibly well written...inspiring
I highly "suggest" this book for all hypnotherapists interested in the process of regression and the possibilities of radical healing implied in the transcripts. This is NOT a book for those interested in past-life regression, but intended for those clients interested in healing underlying causes and secondary gains issues. Very helpful for those who have not gotten what they wanted out of direct suggestion hypnosis. Mr. Churchill's style of therapy is warm, friendly, engaging, and at times sweetly humorous. He challenges his clients to bravely confront the past while soothing them with his intuitive and supportive style. More geared for the advanced hypnotherapist, or those who would like to advance their training in the future.....

5-0 out of 5 stars An innovative text, rich in wisdom and compassion
This is easily the best text on the subject and practice of regression therapy that I have ever read - a must for the library of any practicing or prospective hypnotherapist or counseling professional. It is surely destined to be a classic.Read more
