Beautiful
Interesting because genius is bweautiful. Good to read and very informative, you can be inspired and flattered, so read this one. many great geniuses are presented and so much valuable knowledge of th realm of geniius. It has been said that genius is such beautiful because it just is and perhaps this is true. But is it really truth... these beautiful minds.

Through a series of biographical sketches of historic "geniuses" in a number of fields, Howe argues that they develop their abilities from their experiences rather than having them arise from any innate or mysterious qualities.In his profiles of Einstein, Darwin, the Bronte sisters, and others, Howe essentially argues that a close examination of their lives shows that they studied hard, practiced their craft for many, many hours, and generally received training from knowledgeable parents or mentors.
Genius within our reach
This is a great book in every sense. He is basically saying that the geniuses of the world have achieved their accomplishments through sheer hard work, persistence, and countless hour commitments.And therefore, genius is within all of our reaches, if we only apply the same principles that they did. I have seen what he is talking about played out in real life. For example, when I was working as an engineer, I had to share an office with a man who was known in the company as a genius, with astonishing achievements. He has since gone on to achieve national recognition for his work, and there is no end in sight. Therefore, I was astonished, when I was sharing an office with him, about how little he knew about some things, and how many mistakes he made even about engineering. In fact, I corrected him, and pointed things out to him on many occasions. After he left the company, I even redid some of his work, and everyone agreed it was an improvment. Seeing that side of him, I never thought he was born with some unexplained gift that caused him to be labeled genius by those who didn't see behind the scenes. He did what he did through sheer hard work. In fact, he is the hardest working person I have ever met. He would come into work at 5 in the morning. He would often work between 12 to 20 hours. He would work weekends. When he wasn't doing the direct work at hand, he would go home and read on background material for several hours. He was constantly studying. Hence, the finished product Genius. In this case, his genius came from a mind carefully, and very painstackingly trained through sheer hard work. Read more

Doll or art, threapy or craft.
This book had great meaning for me. I started making dolls as a child and was always happier making and creating them than playing with them. Often at flea markets I rescue folk dolls because they seem to speak to me as an object of the creativity of another and a link to that person or that time. I have hidden the part of myself that needs to create and appreciate the creation of others. Now as Elinor says, I have permission to play.If you also need permission then you need to read this book.

Not your typical "doll" book...
elinor's philosphy on life, family and doll making comes through making this an entertaining and uplifting book on creativity and life in general.I re-read it periodically when I feel the need for reassurance that it's okay to indulge in my version of play... A must-own for the NOT-cute dollmaker
Not everyone will enjoy this book.If "cute" is the highest praise you can imagine for your art, then maybe you should look elsewhere.However, if you like challenges, art that makes you think (about yourselfand life), and fabulous, fascinating artistic expressions, this book is amust-own.Rich, insightful text, and full-color examples of cloth dolls bya variety of well-known fabric artists.Best of all, a copy of the patternthat all of the dollmakers used for their work.If I had only three bookson my bookshelf, this would be one of them.I don't re-read it weekly oranything, but there are times when I need this inspiration, desperately! Difficult to judge this book
This is a difficult book to write a review for. Mind Expansion

After reading the title, I expected a lot more about actual information on the technique of neurofeedback. That, I didn't find. However, I felt all along reading the book, that the information the autor shares, comes from years of working with neurofeedback on himself. Life Journey's Goal and how to head there
The goal of Jungian analysis is individuation or wholeness-a journey from the zero starting point towards the positive outcome (as opposed to therapy which addresses a problem to be fixed, a negative to be neutralized).In this lovely book, Barbara Hannah elucidates and illuminates this human process of becoming all that we can be (even the U.S. Army recognizes this process!!!).It is not without heartache.Per page 128: "All steps on the road towards the process of individuation are necessarily characterized by suffering, and this suffering is particularly important for women."

Good book
This is a good book that does a good job in explaining some of the elemental principles of creative thinking. It's value is that it might inspire a reader to really research the field of creative thinker furtherthan the author has.

Rousing Creativity Does...
I hate books on creativity. They can generally be summed up as long-winded restatements of "just be more creative" and are based on one or two catchy phrases. Worse, they don't seem to be very creative. Not so withHurt's Rousing Creativity. Best handbook on "how to" generate team creativity!
This book is a terrific guide to generating creativity!Full of tips and techniques, Floyd makes the creativity process easy to understand and replicate within our own team environments. If you are interested in"rousing creativity" around you, this is definitely a must read. ... Read more

Excelent Audiobook!
I just finished listening to this audiobook, so I can't yet tell you whether or not the techniques will actually raise your IQ, but I can say that I immensely enjoyed the book, and I also enjoyed how the author read the book (in spite of what another reviewer wrote). I'm writing this to defend the author. I thought his voice was friendly and sufficiently animated. At one point, I even wondered if he was reading or talking from his memory because it sounded very natural, as though he was carrying on a conversation. Overall, the great ideas you'll get from this book will more than make up for any crazy, uber-enthusiastic, super-hyper voice that you may find with other audiobooks.

Good book, bad reading
Between the two - book or recording, please choose the book! The materials are useful, provided you have both time and motivation to embark on a long course of self-development, with a lot of exercises, a lot of daily work. Read more
