5-0 out of 5 stars If You liked the first three you are sure to LOVE this one
As in the first three books our yong heros get mixed up in a sticky situation that will keep you glued to the pages. I am one of the "I was a Sixth Grade Alien" colletion's biggest fans and this was one of my favs. I hope that you will enjoy the book as much as i did!

5-0 out of 5 stars The best book in the series so far!
I'm a big fan of Bruce Coville, (especially the "Sixth Grade Alien" books), and I must say, this is one of his best books yet. (Of course, I haven't read a lot of the newer ones, since I haven't had a chance to buy them yet.) A funny yet believeable plot, and also, Linnsy plays a more active part than usual, which is good. (She's one of my favorite characters.)

5-0 out of 5 stars Crazy Over Peanut Butter
I LOVED this book it is very funny, and I couldn't put it down.It has many of the same characters as in Bruce Covile's I was a Sixth Grade Alien #1.In this story Pleskit tries a new food from Earth- Peanut Butter.Whenever Pleskit eats Peanut Butter he becomes girl crazy. This causes agreat deal of trouble in the school and almost ruins the mission.CanPleskit and Tim save the mission?Read and find out.You won't bedisappointed. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars This is a must have book for food allergy sufferers
This book is an excellent resource for food allergy sufferers. It lists the main food allergy ingredients (corn, eggs, milk, nuts, peanut, soy and wheat) for over 3000 brand name products. It is must when shopping andtrying out new products. Some of the ingredients listed in the book may belisted as "natural flavors" on the package, and the book lets youknow what they are.I only wish they had an updated version. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars It's a simple technique, inexpensive book & worth trying
Sometimes it seems as though solutions for the most complex problems turn out to be relatively simple ones that we are able to correct and control. We all have our compatibilities and incompatibilities with foods, vitamins, supplements and so forth. We often find ourselves questioning as to whether or not a particular product is beneficial for our bodies or whether we are simply wasting our money. This book is written by a brilliant woman in a language that the average reader will be able to comprehend. The photographs that display the techniques are quite helpful. I certainly plan to employ these techniques in order to find specific foods or other products that are compatible with my children and their unique body chemistries. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars ACTUAL LIFE SAVER
After 5 years of my brother being diagnosed with schyzophrenia and coming in and out of mental institutions, this book came into the hands of my mother, who took him (when he was 23 years old) to Dr. Philpott's Hospital, at the time in St. Petersburg, Fla. To shorten, my brother is now 41 years old, has 3 children and has proved Dr. Philpott's stating he had cured 100% of the cases of "schyzophrenia" that came to his hands. Psychiatrists related to pharmaceuticals, of course, have always denied this capacity. If anyone knows if Dr. Philpott's work is being continued please advise to help all the victims of pharmaceuticals.

3-0 out of 5 stars Title is Misleading
This book is designed for parents of children who are allergic to the most common allergenic foods. The "everything" means the usual foods, but if your child has multiple food allergies, this really isn't the book for you.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not as good as I expected!
This book is O.K. and would be helpful to parents provided their child is not sensitive to sugar!! While the author provides substitutes, it would be up to you to "experiment" with the recipes. I for one do not have the time to tinker. My daughter has a sugar cane sensitivity among other things and I'd say that the majority of these recipes contain sugar, and quite a bit at that. I tried the banana loaf cake (this one is made with pure maple syrup)and it was EXTREMELY bland!!! We threw that out and the vinegar choc. cake was an absolute disaster because we had to try and guess at an appropriate substitution for the one cup of sugar! All in all, I wish I hadn't spent the money because there just aren't enough recipes that my daughter can actually eat "as is."
1-0 out of 5 stars Not for egg and milk allergies
This book has recipes with egg. And lots of kids who have milk allergies seem to have milk and egg. There are very few recipes that I found useful. I got very frustrated trying to find something that my son could eat. Sure you can use soy milk but then there is the egg. Does not make any sense to me. There are much better books out there. This one is useless for me. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Food Makes the Difference: Life Changing Book
This book was a life changer for me.My son has ADD and life was always like rolling a large boulder uphill-exhausting mentally, physically, spiritually.I had two other children who needed me too. This book offered me hope that food could make a difference in the behavior and success of my child. The stories in the book are from real life and show the body's ability to heal a large number of conditions and allergic/sensitive responses if given the proper nutrients.Dr Lendon Smith in the forward says "this is the book I wish I had written".I never owned my own copy, but checked it out from the library again and again.Referred people looking for various kinds of help for their children to this book repeatedly.I know people whose children's lives have probably been saved by the wisdom from this book. It is from one of these that I learned of the availability of this book from Amazon.com.This is one of just 3 or 4 books that have affected me like this in my life. This is a great book if you have children with physical/behavioral problems that the medical community seems to have no answers for except dangerous medications.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best guide to planning allergy/rotation diets I have found!
After discovering my son was allergic to a third of his normal diet I was faced with a dilemma - How to feed a nutritional diet without overloading the child with the foods he could still eat. Although most allergy books suggest rotating foods and food families this is the only book I found with easy to follow charts (which you can copy and put to use immediately) and step by step guides to adapting a rotation diet for the whole family. Great insprirational success stories also!

4-0 out of 5 stars Classic nutrition book for mothers (and fathers).

Editorial Review

Despite frequent media accounts of such unpleasant matters as mad cow disease and outbreaks of food poisoning at fast-food restaurants, Nicols Fox argues, we know too little about the threat that current methods of food manufacture and distribution pose to health. Citing Center for Disease Control figures that put the food poisoning count alone at more than 81 million cases a year in the United States, she notes that in many countries it is unsafe to eat the skins of uncooked vegetables, eggs, ground meat, and other staples. Part of the problem lies in advances in transportation and storage technology, which allow us to consume foods grown very far away and at all seasons; part lies in the fact that bacteria are evolving to survive efforts to contain them. Fox's book is alarming--but appropriately so. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Eating can be dangerous to your health!
Ok...I would not recommend this book to anyone who panics easily or does not have an 'iron' stomach. This book is not for the squeamish. Fox does an excellent job of researching the massive problems in our modern-day food industries. She not only includes the companies that prepare and can our foods (such as Gerber, Heinz, Del Monte, and the many less-well-known providers of meat), but she includes the cattle and chicken industries, and even restaurants.5-0 out of 5 stars Will change the way you eat
This book is a brilliant investigation into the present state of our food supply. Many of us have read scattered news items about food poisoning outbreaks here and there, but have never really noticed what's been happening to our food supply. In this book, Fox brings together hundreds of stories of outbreaks, and through them, brings the elusive big picture into focus.Fox takes us behind the burger counters back to the factory farm, where chickens are sick, and cows are fattened up on the dung and bedding from the sick chickens. The manure from the chicken-dung eating cows is spread on apple orchards, and all of the sudden organic apple cider must be pasteurized to kill the e. coli. Before reading this book, I wondered why eating raw cookie dough never made me sick as a child, but now we're cautioned never even to consider such dangerous habits. As Fox explains, eating raw eggs wasn't dangerous before, but thanks to modern agribusiness practices, chickens have salmonella in their ovaries, so all eggs must be assumed to be taintedAs a result, the only safe egg these days is one whose yolk is cooked solid- -eating eggs sunny-side up is akin to Russian roulette.5-0 out of 5 stars A thorough and detailed work
I have just read this book - it took me almost four months. The thoroughness and attention to detail held me spellbound throughout. Future readers must be prepared to read, enjoy, savour and ABSORB this book to give it its just desserts. Ms. Fox throws buckets of icy water into our faces to cause us to think about the food we eat. I will not become a vegetarian - as she has - because man is by nature and heritage a carnivore. Besides she cites as many - if not more - problems with fruit, vegetables (especially raw)and their juices as with meats, which we must learn better to prepare. Certainly a (pre)cautionary tale for all! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Keeping the Shadows at Bay
When Tony Randazzo was born in February 1978, he smiled within hours after his birth. However, even as an infant he did exhibit overtly autistic behaviors.
4-0 out of 5 stars Quick to criticize but will neverunderstand
Having lived through the diagnosis of my son -- I can relate 100% with this book. The mother's feelings, the ability to press on while others are in denial.....It can be a lonely road at times. You become so desperate that you feel that one day your child will snap out of it.I read the reviews and thought it is easy for a reader to criticize not having gone through this. Mary, I apologize for their ignorance.
1-0 out of 5 stars Beating on Tony
Everyone has a story to tell, but after reading Fighting for Tony I have to say that the author, Mary Callahan has some nerve to use this title. This was one of the hardest books as a parent I have ever read through. The time period covered is late 1970s through the 1980s, when life was much different raising an autistic child.
