4-0 out of 5 stars Allergies? This book can help
In reading this book, I learned some things I hadn't known before. For instance, I didn't know a food could affect another food's digestion process.5-0 out of 5 stars mtmmog
This book covers the author's struggle with food allergies and presents her years of experience in creating a rotation diet that allowed her to function in a world filled with artificial foods. Before I read this book, I knew that fast food hamburgers had too much fat or that my tapwater had flouride. But this book really opened my eyes to how pervasive food additives really are and how difficult it is to create a diet that eliminates these.5-0 out of 5 stars I wish I had learned this stuff long ago!
This book is excellent for learning how to regain strong health, even if you don't have food allergies!A friend turned me on to it and I was fascinated to read about many little things that impact health that I never thought of before. For instance, different types of salt affect health differently. This book described what kind to look for to replenish your body's mineral supplies.Something else I never thought about is that picky eater kids really do like natural foods as they don't contain chemicals that kids can taste.I appreciated the many insights this book provided! It's truly useful and well thought out. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST!
As a mother of four-year old twins, both of whom have severe food allergies, I commend and admire Ms. Rogers on her book.It is wonderful! To date, I think it is the best book in print re:food allergies and the host of issues that go along with them.Recommended reading for ANY family with ANY type of food allergy. Also excellent reading for any person who comes in contact with your child. It's straight-forward, easy to understand content provides a clear picture for those folks who are not familiar with the host of emotional, psychological and physical aspects that people close to food allergies experience on a daily basis. Congratulations to Ms. Rogers on a job very well done!

5-0 out of 5 stars Inspirational
This book is a must have for families with an allergenic child. While the book focuses mainly on seafood allergies, and how to help your child cope with them, the tale is suitable for children with any allergies. Both innovative and original, No Lobster, Please! is a jewel among childrens' literature.

5-0 out of 5 stars Loving Lessons about Being Special
No Lobster, Please! is the nonfiction story of James Rogers who is in first grade at the H. Olive Day School in Norfolk, Massachusetts.James's Mother, Ms. Robyn Rogers, wrote the story for him, and the book is illustrated by James (see the self-portrait on page five) and his classmates in Ms. Fazio's class.Ms. Fazio also designed the cover. This is a book that is clearly written, illustrated and bound in love for James.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Why Everyone In Your Family Needs to Read This Book
This book was recently featured in Dr. David William's newsletter, Alternatives. Dr. Williams finds Dr. Reading's work essential to creating a health plan for ourselves. I think everyone should read this book and get an understanding of how disease is created through the generations, what clues we can find from our family trees, and what we can sanely do about our health futures!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fascinating, well-reasoned reading
"Trace Your Genes to Health" is more than anything else an examination of the current state of the study of heredity and medicine. The author, Chris Reading, is a physician in Australia. After graduating from medical school he became qualified in psychiatry and specialized in organic psychiatry. From this point he began to notice the relationships between vitamin-mineral deficiencies, food allergies, and genetics as they affect neuropsychiatric disorders.Soon he was able to compile data to show that there are genetic factors in many, many problems that are not generally thought to be genetic in nature.Dr. Reading has distilled his years of experience and knowledge into this book.5-0 out of 5 stars A must have orthomolecular resource book!
Dr Readings Book is work of a pure genius. Getting patients to track family illness to determine proper treatment is what is lacking in the current medical practice. Not only can the cause of disease be treated and identified but prevented in the newer generations. The book contains excellent case studies of those who have recovered from serious mental/physical sickness from using the knowledge of the family tree. I would recommend it as a must orthomolecular resource book. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A clear and easy read
This a a great book to read if you have an intolerance to certain things and don't know what to do.I have an intolerance to eggs and wheat, so this was a real eye opener.
4-0 out of 5 stars To read
a good book, very sintetic and clear. To me you have to read this absolutely.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very informative
This book presents a very informative introduction to foods that make people sick. The authors, a university chemistry professor and an allergist MD are quite knowledgeable. They present the mainstream scientific research on food intolerance in a way that is easy to comprehend for the general reader.Dr. Emsley's interest in chemistry is evident throughout the book as he explains the biochemistry of what happens to the food we put in our bodies as well as the chemistry behind food intolerance symptoms.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Correct the vague symptoms that your doctor hasn't helped
With the huge number of additives, preservatives, herbicides, pesticides and other cides present in our foods, it's no wonder we are getting fatter and sicker and not losing weight on yo yo diets. Dr. B's book helped me lose weight and quit asthma medicines and my doctor couldn't/did't help. Ifyou have vague symptoms that don't get better, you might consider foodintolerances & read this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must-have home reference for any family or individual!
I found Dr. Braly's Food Allergy & Nutrition Revolution to be both insightful and a benefit to our household. As parents of four (#5 is due in 3 weeks), my wife and I regularly refer to Dr. Braly's book for itsin-depth information, research, treatment and protocols for a multitude ofhealth conditions.A few years after reading Dr. Braly's book, I finallymet him at a health conference and was fascinated by the wealth ofinformation and experience he has.Recently Dr. Braly informed me he hastwo new health guides coming out through Keats Publishing and I willdefinitely be purchasing both of them. Please feel free to contact meregarding my opinion on Dr. Braly, his book or even on how to contact him.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is life changing information for the chronically ill.
As a medical student, I must read many books on disease states and the therapies for them. The initial event that creates an environment for many disease states is commonly a breakdown of the body's natural ability tomaintain health (i.e. immune system deficiencies).Dr. Braly's book offersexcellent information that explains how your body should work, why itdoesn't, and what you can do to make it work properly just by modifyingyour diet.I have worked with a physician who has been in practice forthirty years that became interested in Dr. Braly's book after his wife'smedical problems had failed to resolve by traditional and expensivemedicals treatments. After diet modification, there was drasticimprovement in her health and soonafter, her quality of life.Thisprompted the physician to treat his own patients with Dr. Braly's dietmodification plan.Today, the vast majority of his patients are thosebeing successfully treated for food allergies and have spent thousands ontraditional medical therapies with previous doctors that have had less thanbeneficial results.I must highly recommend this book to anyone sufferingfrom fibromyalgia, JRA, chronic headaches, intestinal problems, or otherillnesses that have not responded to traditional medicine. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Fabulous
I found this book to be fabulous!!Recently someone in my family was diagnosed with Celiac so we all pitched in to become very supportive. With so many books to choose from, I chose this one because Ms. Crangle was informative without being overbearing. This book was very helpful and funny - made the transition to being gluten free quite easy!!

4-0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Resource
Since my diagnosis in 2003, I have spent many hours on the internet researching celiac disease.I thought I had learned everything there was to know, but this book proved me wrong. The basics are all there, along with helpful information about cross-contamination and other things that may delay recovery.I would definitely recommend it to newly-diagnosed celiacs, and even those who have been living with celiac disease for some time.5-0 out of 5 stars Every celiac should have this book!
Most books out there on wheat or gluten intolerance only address the dietary issues. This book helps me deal with ALL aspects of having celiac disease. It's written in a really conversational tone, as if the author's sitting next to me explaining it all! I really enjoy this book and use it as a constant reference. Her recipes are good too, and I've learned so much about different types of food out there in the ethnic markets that are gluten free. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars WOW!!!I lost 20lbs in 4 weeks
I have been about 25 lbs overweight for about 10 years.I was exercising and eating sensibly but still no budge on the pudge. This diet is amazing. I didn't detox but I stopped eating dairy and lost 10 lbs almost immediately! Then I cut wheat and lost the other 10 lbs. This book will help you loose weight and begin a new way of understanding your body. My doctor recommended this book and I can't wait for my 1 year checkup to show him the progress.I would give 5 stars but I thought some of the information in the book was over the top....I'm sure it works though. Thanks for reading and Good Luck with your weight loss.

I ordered 2 books and this one came on time and was great. The second book is still on order. It hasnot came in yet. That is disappointing.
5-0 out of 5 stars Invaluable Information!
Unlike many of the reviewers here, I came to this book after being diagnosed with food allergies.Having struggled with skin rashes, mouth sores, constipation, bloating, cramping, diareha, mood swings, depression, shortness of breath, lethargy, aching joints and a multitude of other symptoms, I finally found a food allergy specialist who believed that you could have more than one or two true food allergies.Within 15 mins, he had tested me for 72 different foods and discovered I was allergic to 33 of them.Basically, everything that we all eat every day.Within one week of eliminating those foods, my symptoms stopped and within three weeks, I had lost 15 pounds.Mind you, I was not overweight in the least but due to the water retention and inflammation, I was packing an extra 15 pounds of water weight and several inches around my ankles, thighs, waist, arms and in my face! Also, ladies, staying away from allergenic foods and incorporating moderate exercise will all but eliminate cellulite as well.Afterall, cellulite is not just fat but also toxins trapped under the skin - eliminate the toxins and you eliminate the dipples. In short, everything that Dr. Haas promises (quick weight reduction and continued accelerated fat loss) is exactly what will happen if food allergies are the culprit involved in your weight issues. Not only do I have personal experience with this but my allergist can attest that it is the same story with all of his patients! It may seem all but impossible at first to eliminate these common foods but after the first week, your cravings diminish quickly and are all but gone by week three.I believe food allergy is a hidden epidemic in America and is the cause of the rise in obesity in adults as well as children. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Use it as an allergy guide -- not necessarily a cookbook
If you are looking for a guide to the many alternative foods available and how to rotate your food items, then buy this book.My mistake was getting it as a cookbook for my gluten-free, dairy-free, lamb-free, etc-free diet. The recipes I tried just didn't turn out as tasty as recipes from several other books, especially the baked items.

2-0 out of 5 stars Gluten addiction
This book seems like an example of addictive thinking - of the ways that people unconsciously sabotage rotation diets. Why?Because her rotation diet has a gluten grain on almost ever day!The gluten grains - wheat, rye, barley and oats - are part of a single plant subfamily. No other food is treated this way -
4-0 out of 5 stars always check with your allergist
This is a good book for people with food allergies to read. However, people with very severe food allergies should check with an allergic before trying anything new. This book provides good ideas and information but some people will have to be careful. My son has a severe, life-threatening allergy to cow milk protein. Very small amounts of cow milk protein can kill him. The protein in goat's milk is very similar to the protein in cow's milk. I gave my son some goat's milk many years ago and it almost killed him. His allergist would never have advised me to give him goat's milk. Many people have food allergys but people vary with regard to how allergic they are. If you have to carry an epi-pen because of a food allergy, that is a sign to be very careful. That said, I still think this book will help people with known food allergies or with illnesses that may be related to eating food(s) that causes an adverse reaction within the body. A book will not replace having an allergist that knows how to test for food allergies. Complete removal of all traces of all types of milk protein from my son's diet has been the only way I've found to keep him safe so far. People suffering from food allergies may want to also read about adding enzymes from live food to their diet as another way to reduce the problems associated with food allergies. I have been studying food allergies for 11 years and there is always more to learn. ... Read more
