best cookbook ever
I bought this book through the mail and it is awesome!My friends keep borrowing it and it's always somewhere else.Some of my friends would BUY this book if it were available.ANDI would give this cookbook for a gift IFit were available.The Live Longer cookbook has great pictures and easy to follow recipes and every one that I have used has been delicious.I sure do hope that it is reprinted sometime soon.

He took this cookbook with him when he moved out...It was the only one I truly loved cooking from.The instructions were easy to follow, didn't demand any obscure ingedients, were flavorful *AND* healthy... This is a comprehensive source of sound nutrition.

I wanted to like this book, but the recipes are inedible
I really had high hopes for this book.The forward information is good, very helpful.There is a high fiber version of the food pyramid that I take with me to the store.Unfortunately, out of the 5 or so recipes I have tried, not one is good enough to make again.Lest you think we are just fussy, Wonder bread type of eaters, we are not.I have a daughter with chronic constipation and I collect high fiber recipes and foods.I have found many foods that taste great and are helpful as well.But these foods all taste like cardboard.I can't recommend it as much as I would like to.

Delicious recipes that "work" and taste wonderful
I have a colon probably once scarred by diverticulitis, which means I have chronic constipation, probably for life, yet for me, at 65, these recipes produce easily passed well formed stools. The recipes are inexpensive and relatively easy to prepare, and they taste *really* good. So far as I know about nutrition, I think they are also good for me in general.

I have not reviewed other cookbooks for diabetics as a caveat. My purpose in reviewing this book was to see if it would be suitable for a friend who is a gourmet cook and reluctant to be relegated to boring food 'just forthe sake of her diabetic care'. There are a wide variety of excitinggourmet recipes sure to please the palate. Each recipe also containscomplete nutrition information with which to fit these meals into theJoslin exchange program. Disappointed
I was really disappointed in this book.I bought it specifically for the High-Fiber recipes and it fails to tell you how much fiber is in each recipe.It gives fat content,but not fiber content.In the books title it say 150 Nutritious, High-Fiber, Low Fat Recipes, yet doesn't include the fiber content in any of the recipes.I'd like to keep track of my daily fiber intake, but I can't do so using this book.So for my purposes this book is useless. ... This book provides the facts on a "forgotten" tragedey.
As a safety and health practioner whose strongest ultra specific technical competency is in the area of respiratory protection, I was searching for this book for several weeks. I wanted to know the particulars of how several hundred workers could die within a few months - on a jobsite - and no one go to jail for such actions. I was also seeking this book for inclusion in evidence on several matters soon being brought before this country's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).The book is the perfect length, as I completed it in about five evenings.Its style is very readable and offers its reader the perfect blend of research rolled into a documentary format.Because I have devoted countless hours at the National Library of Medicine, The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, etc. I fully appreciate the hundreds - if not thousands - of hours Dr. Cherniak devoted to research. How many boxes in musty court record archives did he examine ? Read the book's bibliography and you will have some degree of understanding of his enormous effort. Better yet, track down the original (primary) sources and read these as well.The book provides an excellent analysis of the United States corporation involved in the project. Diabetic Deliverance
I read F-Plan Diet years ago, tried it and lost weight. The weight stayed off much easier than with fad diets. A diagnosis of diabetes brought me back to Audrey Eyton's diet book, F-Plan. I ate 1000 calories, diabetic recommended amount of carbohydrates and 35-50 grams of fiber daily. In six months I lost over 50 lbs. My blood sugars were in the 80's even after eating meals. I added a few more supplements that really cemented the restoration of my pancreatic system. No shots, no pills! Just exercise 20-30 minutes daily and the F-Plan Diet. I kept a daily journal of my counts and progress and eating plan. On days when I was resistant to planning the next days meals, I would simply find a menu from my journal. Nothing could be easier! Love the Daily Fiber Filler cereal recipe! My doctor is pleased and so am I.

I always come back to this diet after trying others, because it has delicious food, you can incorporate your own ideas, and it works. The recipes are easy and quick, the concept uncomplicated, and it is healthy.
