5-0 out of 5 stars by the Editor of Become the Dream
Become The Dreamis a powerful and practical teaching tool for professionals in any of the health and counseling fields, and an inspiring and provocative book for anyone seeking self-knowledge and actualization.Randal Churchill is Director of the Hypnotherapy Training Institute and originator of Hypnotic Dreamwork. In this book he introduces a revolutionary combination of therapies that brings Gestalt dreamwork together with hypnosis. The vast majority of dreamwork methods rely on analysis and interpretation. By contrast, Gestalt dreamwork brings the dreamer into a deeper experience of the dream itself and allows the individual to find the unique relationship of the dream to his or her own existential experience. The addition of a wealth of hypnotic techniques takes the dreamer much further, witha variety of effective options such as hypnotic deepening, ideomotor methods, regression and positive suggestions for further insight and integration. Actual transcripts from a wide range of fascinating dreamwork sessions draw the reader into an intimate look at therapy from the inside. With great sensitivity and skill, the author demonstrates the remarkable potential of this unique work to tap into the receptivity and wisdom inherent in the subconscious mind and the potential for profound change.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best book on dream analysis you may ever find!
Mark Thurston is right on the mark! The techniques discussed in this remarkable book are not for those who need a comic book style approach to one of the most complex subjects in our personal lives. 3-0 out of 5 stars If you like Edgar Cayce, this is for you
I was expecting more of a dictionary to be able to look up images that occur in my dreams. This book is organized as a series of rambling discussions of different dream experiences and the author's selection of Edgar Cayce reading/sayings to clarify the dream experience. Perhaps, if an editor shortened the book by half, it would be more readable for someone like myself. Also, I did not find the Edgar Cayce remarks to make a lot of sense. But if you are an Edgar Cayce "person", perhaps the commentary will make more sense. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Obscure and intriguing
This is the first book I've read by Mindell and maybe I need to become more familiar with his world - his writing is rather obscure - a bit like the description of alchemy - explaining the obscure by the more obscure. Perhaps it is because I'm African that many of the explanations do not strike a chord or produce an "aha" experience, but more often a "huh?". HOwever, I'm just beginning on this journey with Mindell and perhaps as I work more and more with his very interesting practical section on working with the dreambody I will begin to understand. Definately a book worth reading - it will bring a new dimension to your relationship with your body, emotions & lifepath

4-0 out of 5 stars Untitled
One gets the impression that while Mindell is a master at working with the dreambody, he is not quite as good at writing about it. I could well conceive that this is because the dreambody defies a certain degree of rational, verbal understanding.Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Different
I have several books on dream interpretation, which I keep on my bedside. I was looking for something more specific to my dreams...perhaps more of a breakdown. This book offers more broad interpretations, however, I enjoyed the insight and its different stance on interpretations.

3-0 out of 5 stars A little disappointing
Usually, I am a fan of Ray Buckland's work.I was a bit disappointed with the Gypsy Dream Book though.Usually in any other book I have bought, there are a lot more topics and a lot more information contained under those topics. The Gypsy Dream Book lets me down on both aspects. The background information that Buckland provides on Gypsy dream interpretation does, however, make for interesting reading.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun fantasy, and--well, why not?
I'm not certain that I take dreams very seriously, but Buckland has Rom ancestry and if this is his family's tradition regarding dream interpretation... well, why not have fun with it?This text is notpresented as a deeply academic work, and if you enjoy dream books, this oneis at least as good as--and perhaps better than--most in print today.Ilike Buckland's writing style, and this book is fairly easy to use.(And,yes, I have Traveler ancestry myself.) ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Room For Improvement
This was not exactly what I was seeking in a workbook. It has quite a few excercises, but only a few of them really grabbed me. Many of them felt self evident to me, which would have been fine if she had developed them in more detail. Instead this book was emphatically written in layman's terms, and I felt like each chapter hurried on to the next. While the dream examples are unique, and riveting, I felt the author depended on them too heavily. I would have prefered more general instruction from the author. I am keeping this book in my collection though. Maybe I will come back to it and appreciate it more in the future.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST DREAM BOOK!!!
This is a GREAT book - it helps you to help yourself. It shows all kinds of ideas and all sorts of theories. I got A LOT out of it. I really recommend it above all other dream books!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't Judge It By Its Cover
I'm always looking for books that go beyond the obligatory "dream dictionary." I invest the bulk of my energy into telling querents that they are the best interpreter of their dreams and emphasizing that dreams speak in symbols. I was a bit leery of this one, which is a "pretty" book filled with beautiful illustrations. I was concerned that it may be "fluff" but I was pleasantly surprised. The author is well qualified to write on this topic with his background in psychotherapy and dreams.Heyneman consistently explains symbolism and providesvaluable exercises for developing intuitive abilities and understanding symbolism. There is a brief "oracle" section at the end of the book defining common symbols pertaining to relationships. Exercises are presented that couples can do together, including a few that can serve to enhance wakeful bedroom activities. Heyneman shows that dream work can indeed be used to draw couples closer together through improved communication. The ideas in the book can also be applied to other important relationships in one's life. Simply written,I feel that this is a great book for the beginner who wants to learn dream symbolism. An attractive book, it would also make a nice wedding or anniversary gift for dream conscious couples, or even just for fun. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Create Your Magical Journey
As a writer whose audience includes all faiths and paths, I'm torn as to how to review this book."Dream Magic" will appeal to those who practice new age and nature-based paths but its valuable information will be lost on those who view the published genre as too "alternative" or "evil."Those with an aversion to practicing "magic" are likely to dismiss the tools in this book instead of adapting them to their own beliefs. That's a shame, because they'll really miss out.
2-0 out of 5 stars Had Potential, but made a U-Turn.
I had a lot of high hopes for this book.Sirona Knight has obvious experience with magic, and talent with the pen.Dream Magic starts out weakly, yet another book that feels the need to defend itself in the first few chapters.(The usual, and far too often repeated magic isn't Satanism, Some Christians aren't that understanding...blah blah blah.)Then I started to really enjoy myself while working through her versions of quarter calling, circle castings, and astral meditations. However, I expected her to go into more advanced studies...or further details and she never did.The start of what could be an awesome book drops off into a number of love and wealth spells. What a let down.

5-0 out of 5 stars my favorite dream book
This is my favorite dream interpretation book. It's set up like a dictionary.I've had other dream books but they didn't seem to fit me as well.I like the idea of animal totems and this author definitely drew on those interpretations too which I like. Another nice thing is that alternate interpretations and information on other cultures and what dreaming of a particular animal or thing would have meant to them is also included. Each entry also has other related topics to explore.Goddesses are mentioned here and there in the entries.

5-0 out of 5 stars An EXCELLENT guide to learning dream interpretation
I really enjoyed this Edgar Cayce guide to dream interpretation. It has something for everyone.I use the symbol dictionary section on a regular basis, but Mark Thurston makes it clear that dream interpretation involvesmuch more than just looking up symbols.I've learned several methods foranalyzing and understanding my dreams. Now I can tell when my dreams aredesire & fear produced, problem presentations, or compensatory dreams. As an Edgar Cayce guide, the book also explains dream application.Inother words, Cayce and Thurston (and Carl Jung) believe we need to actresponsibly by applying what we learn from our dreams to our waking lives.A REAL challenge! This book is a "must have" for all studentsof dream interpretation! ...
