5-0 out of 5 stars Dream Warrior!
God, have I had fun with this series on dream control! In the past I have suffered badly from insomnia and the anxiety that comes with it and can honestly say that this series has made an enormous difference in my life! I remember my dreams, I enjoy them very much and can become lucid. I'm still working on becoming more lucid by remembering to ask myself many times daily, "Am I dreaming?" (as Victoria states in her cd about lucid dreaming.)I dream of flying very often, have my entire life, and now, thanks to these cds, I always become lucid during flying and am able to thoroughly enjoy these times of flight.Matter of fact, just last night I dreamed of flying and remember I started to fall a bit and instantly became lucid and "changed it" into something similiar to the magic carpet ride in Disney's Aladdin movie! I enjoyed the downward spiral dips as I soared up all the higher afterwards. Wow, that was an amazing dream! Also, I have the "Dream Temple" that I created on the Dream Recognition part of the cds that I return to often in self-hypnosis/relaxation and in my dreams! It's a beautiful white mansion on the highest mountain overlooking a dazzling, bluest blue ocean with the mightiest waves crashing on the cliffs below. This place surely exists somewhere. The best part for me was this one particular night I dared to speak of what I wished to dream the most, and I dreamed it all night long.I woke up and wrote down all the adventures that occurred on paper but it is so vivid in my memory, even now as I speak, that it feels like it actually happened. For this one night of dreaming, it was worth the price of the entire program.
4-0 out of 5 stars Helpful For Beginners
The Dream Control Technique program contains two cds.The first cd contained three tracks. The first track is the introduction, and while she has a nice, soothing, clear voice and the background music is calming, I found the introduction a bit dull. However, for people completely new to working on their dreams the first track has basic information that they may find important such as what the dream techniques are and how they're designed to be done in order, and how you need dream journal, etc. The second track is on recalling dreams and the third track is on interpreting those dreams.
4-0 out of 5 stars Helpful Program for Exploring Your Dream Life
This package has 5 tracks on 2 CDs. Recordings vary in length between 23 - 35 min and have a pleasant background music. The first part of each recording guides you into a relaxed state of mind and body.

I have been using and referring to this wonderful book for years every time I had a dream with a certain situation, or symbols where I wanted to know what they meant. This is a wonderful and concise book that makes dream interpretation simple.

5-0 out of 5 stars NOT A BETTER BOOK ANYWHERE ON DREAMS
This book taught me how to lucid dream and opened up a new world to me. I have always had dreams that have guided me in this life but sometimes they were confusing and left me wondering "why in the world I would dream that??" I keep a journal and was able to go back through it and understand why some dreams repeated themselves thanks to this book... It is true that only the dreamer can truly interpet their own dreams but this book was very insightful and helped me to move on from repeated dreams. The only thing I found I did not like was what it said about "wolves" I am part Native and Wolves to me mean Protection not the big bad wolf theroy of little Ridding hood. Most people see Wolves this way because of this story so the mind stored this image and used it in this way. Not the books fault but the person who write the story which left an impression on our young minds.
5-0 out of 5 stars Best dream book I have ever owned.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
I refer to this book almost everyday since I bought it in 1988 or 1989.This is not your typical "fortune telling" kind of dream book, such as Zolar's.I have found the symbol definitions to be highly accurate. It's not just a dream dictionary, there are also primers for every chapter to help you interpret your own dreams using the book as a guide.

5-0 out of 5 stars A fine, specific exploration based on solid spiritual foundations
Plenty of books have covered the Kabbalah, but choose psychologist/healer Catherine Shainberg's Kabbalah And The Power Of Dreaming: Awakening The Visionary Life if what you seek is a practical application of Kabbalah principles to daily spiritual purposes. There are practices used by seers, sages and prophets to control dreams and visions: Shainberg uses the ancient Sephardic Kabbalah tradition to blend in stories from around the Mediterranean, to be used as examples for readers seeking to develop their own dreaming powers. A fine, specific exploration based on solid spiritual foundations.
5-0 out of 5 stars Revisioning and reshaping our world
Kabbalah and the Power of Dreaming is a magnificent guide to putting soul back in the body and walking a path with heart. Catherine Shainberg is a profound spiritual teacher who reminds us that dreaming is not only about what we do when we sleep but about waking up to a deeper life, remembering and navigating from our sacred purpose, tapping into Source energy - including the images that speak to the body and can make it well - and being present at the place of creation. Her book contains a panoply of practical exercises for transforming fear and anger into heart-centered energy, liberating ourselves from the rule of habit and healing the wound between Earth and Sky.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not Freud or Jung but close enough
I have been facinated with dreams since I was a child (I think we all are fascinated with dreams) so I have read as much material on this subject, from the mystic to the more cognitive stuff. This book is really good. Not mystic but not to 'scientific' to require a PhD from Yale. It has helped me to understand why I dream what I dream and how the dreams I have at night are a way that my subconcious reveals to me the inner thoughts of my soul.

1-0 out of 5 stars All About Dreams
Okay, but readers of this book should balance the content against other compelling perspectives, e.g., DREAMS by KALLMYER is an excellent book which provides a scholarly, yet practical view that is sure to challengethe reader.

3-0 out of 5 stars Some very good info, but unorganized and choppy
This book could be a real gem, if only there was more focus and flow in its organization. I particularly like the methodologies put forth for dream analysis, and felt the book's strength is in its "how to" appeal.I also liked some of the background and historical perspective. I think agood editor could have re-organized and streamlined the content to make itmore readable. I also did not like the frequent references to Ms. Delaney'sother books. It seems like they were advertising rather than validreferences. ... Read more

This engrossing book tells the story behind the famed dream experiments at Brooklyn's Maimonides Medical Center where mind-to-mind communication was put to the test. The research procedures are described in a reader-friendly manner, as is their statistical analysis. The many anecdotes and examples are fascinating in their own right; they will be welcomed by those who think that telepathy is possible and will challenge the scoffers. More important, this account demonstrates how science can examine unusual real-life experiences using both rigor and imagination. ... Read more

When I look to dream interpretation books, I try not to get caught up in the predictory 'a-beautiful-stranger-will-appear-at-your-doorstep-if-you-dream-of-apples' kind of books. Instead, I tend to be drawn to dream books with more general meanings. This one, The Encyclopedia of Dream Interpretation, is about halfway in between the two of these.

5-0 out of 5 stars A good survey
I liked the scope of this book. Each chapter covered a different angle on death and dreams of death. This is all interspersed with dreams of Kramer's students from a college course. These are some of the most intriguing and fresh. This book does give up depth in it's attempts tocover so many angles--religious, philosophical, literary, psychological,shamanic...Also, Kramer basically accepts the notion of death in dreamsas transformative and liberating.I, too, find it the most interestingapproach, but what he presents in the book doesn't necessary lead to thisconclusion. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Dream keys is wonderfully written and insightful
Dream Keys, Unlocking the Power of Your Unconscious Mind, by Lauren Lawrence, is wonderfully written, insightful and inspiring. Now I finally know what my flying dreams meant! (Inever understood this--and otherdreams I've had--until reading Ms. Lawrence's book.) Reading the celebritydreams was also a lot of fun and very fascinating. I've learned fromhearing Ms. Lawrence analyze dreams on the radio--but reading the booktaught me even more about myself and the entire subject of dreaminterpretation. I highly recommend this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best dream analyses since Freud!
Lawrence's "Dream Keys" is an extremely well written treasure offering up some of the best analyses since Freud's "Interpretation of Dreams." And Lawrence's dreams are from celebrities, so its aninteresting read all the way. Voyeuristic, maybe. But I couldn't put thebook down. Afterall, who wouldn't want to know what Jackie O dreamt beforeshe met John Kennedy, what Madonna dreamt during her pregnancy, and whatLuciano Pavarotti dreamt before his performance of Othello. I was amazedthat Mark Hamill dreamt himself "walking the sky" years before heplayed the part of Luke "Skywalker" in Star Wars. Better still, the book introduces a new concept of "actualized" dreams thatshows how we can interpret conscious actions as dream symbols in oureveryday lives. In conclusion, the cover art, although commercial, in noway represents the intelligence within this mighty little book. Lawrencesomehow manages to spoonfeed us--what would oftentimes be heavyacademia--with humour and great style.

5-0 out of 5 stars Intriguing dreams make this an awesome read!!!
This book taught me so much about analyzing my innermost thoughts. And, I was able to keep with it because, unlike other books of the genre, this book was really interesting. All kidding aside, I feel that I really learned a lot from thisbook, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to others. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Decent
This is a decent book on dreaming. It answered many of the questions that I might have raised about the subject. It does so in an informed and easy-to-read manner. It is not stuffed with references (both pro and con). Much of the medical science is filtered so that the person-on-the-street will understand it. Many sidebars answer some basic questions. The headings are brief and accurate, making it easy to skim and find answers to questions. Overall, a worthwhile reading. Recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars What Dreams Mean, Scientifically
Everyone is interested in dreams. If you are lucky enough to remember one, it will be something you think about upon awakening and perhaps through the day.Dreams are strange, frightening, and funny enough that it isn't at all uncommon to tell a friend, "Guess what I dreamt last night?" if there is a peculiar dream that bears relating. Most of us are convinced that dreams mean something. It used to be thought that gods communicated their intentions to us via dreams.Other people insisted that dreams could predict the future, and there were dream books in which you could look up the subject of your dream, say "cat," and find that dreaming of a cat was a certain prediction for maybe riches or maybe love.Freud's thoughts about dreams were close to this sort of thinking; the content of a dream had hidden meanings that were available for interpretations. But everyone who looked to dream content for meaning was looking in the wrong place, according to J. Allan Hobson in _Dreaming: An Introduction to the Science of Sleep_ (Oxford). Not the content of dreams, but the form involved and the neurological basis for it are where the meanings of dreams lie.5-0 out of 5 stars The Neuroscience of Dreaming

5-0 out of 5 stars Enjoy your Dreams
Dreaming inevitably seems like the flip side of consciousness. Indeed it was Freud's "discovery of the unconscious" that fueled the 20th century's most important movement in psychology: psychoanalysis. Dreaming, arguably a psychotic state, is deeply meaningful for psychoanalysts who apply rational means to irrational human drives. But neuroses are equally meaningful. And by looking at these fractured states of mind, psychoanalysts believed that they could discern the underlying structure of the emotions. (I have often thought this seemed like divining the functions of internal combustion for transportation by visiting junkyards.) Dreams, long held by seers and Freudians to be the voice of the unconscious, are better and more productively seen as more continuous with conscious thought. So says J. Allen Hobson, a Harvard Medical School psychiatrist and neuroscientist, who plucks dreams from the realm of mystery, and restores dreaming to a place where it is possible to generalize about the human mind from the physiology of dreaming. Dreamstates are brainstates. And studying dreams is to construct a psychology of the normal.Read more

I am a psychologist who began reading Cayce 35 years ago. Just reading Dreams: Your Magic Mirror, stimulated my subconcsious to spontaneously create very meaningful dreams while I slept. I considered this book to have a very powerful and positive effect on the mind. Several years later I reread the book and again it resulted in profound dreams which symbolized my life challenges and previously hidden aspects of my personality. Few books can claim to effect levels of the mind like this volume does. I recommend the book to any sincere seeker of self-insight.
