If you do it in a pool, call it water fitness...
I was extremely disappointed in this book.It read like an instruction manual dumbed down to elementary grade levels.The stretches in the book could mostly be done on land.The definitions were over the top.Defining water, then defining fitness, then (they actually put them together)...I'll save you the money.If you already know how to swim, do that.

Great Book
This is a great book, and the most important thing to me was that the exercises worked.In fact, in my opinion, the exercises and practical advice will work for anyone anyhere because they are about positive thinking.I took the exercises and applied them to other aspects of my life outside of sports, and I found the visualizations and the exercises extremely helpful, reliable and useful.This book got me back to the basics of thinking and helped me relax and look at life from a calmer perspective.I really recommend this book! ... a classic
This book is key in begining a triathlon lifestyle.The calculations that are required for the year-round training program seem labourous but once you get started, it is well worth your time.The section on bike maintenance is simple and includes most everything to make you feel like you've been doing the sport for years.Great!

Great for beginners
This is a good book for everyone thinking about triathlons. It offers good advice on choosing equipment, techniques and training programs. it works
I'm a new transition to triathlons. This book works well for me because I'm prepared to accept the information the book has to offer. Theinformation is objective and the training methods presented appear wellorganized with technical reasoning backing up the new concepts I learnedhere. I feel the author is genuinely concerned about the readers successand therefore disagree with other reviewers comments' that the there is toomuch (unnecessary) training. My thoughts on this matter are thatTriathletes need a sufficient amount of training to efficiently compete andI think once again the author backs up the reasons why the training isimportant . My interpretation of the general training outline presented isthat this will prepare one well for the stresses of half ironmancompetition, but one can adjust up or down from there to suit their racingneeds. For a 1994 copyright, this book is well worth the money because thefacts, figures, and methods being used appear to be genuine by even today'sstandards.If you wish to find something exactly for you please visit yourlocal full service health club and pay several hundred dollars for agenuine taylored plan, this is a serious statement for those beingextremely serious about this sport.
