The best in scholorship and illustrations
Alexander and Pacht are simpley the best in Medieval scholorship. This book has been one of my favorites since a class in Manuscriopt Illumination. This book gives the basics with out being to large to digest. It provides fantastic illustrations and bibliography that should send even the most jaded art historian to their knees with gratitude. This book is good for hard core historians, lovers of illuminated pages, medieval history or art buffs and any one in love with line, color and decoration for the sake of decoration. Alexander and Pacht are clear knowledgeable writers who love to point out the details and side stories that make art and history so facinating to comb through. It is a pleasure to just turn the pages and study the art work. This book will give you a new appriciation of the "dark ages" and the legacy of art that was left for us. ... Read more

an Alexander book for doctors and psychologists
Where F. M. Alexander's own writings read almost like philosophy, Dimon'sbook is more grounded, with the feel of a psychology textbook. It's adistinctly objective approach, an argument for the Technique with thelogical impact of a medical journal. WE MOVE THEREFORE WE ARE
This is the finest book available explaining the deeper significance of the mind/body work done by F. Mathias Alexander, creator of the Alexander Techinque.But what I liked most about reading it was its wonderfullyfresh perspective on age-old human problems.For thousands of years,philoshophers have pondered the human condition from the standpoint ofsomeone sitting under a tree.What Dimon sees is that perhaps our greatestgift is our ability to decide to get up.From his perspective, how andwhere we go tells us more about who we are than we might ever have thoughtpossible.I urge anyone curious about life and eager to improve his or herown to give this book a try.

Principles of Meditation: Eastern Wisdom for the Western Mind
This is an excellent book. If you are interested in meditation I reccommend this book as a starting place. I already had a copy, but wanted to give a copy to a friend as a gift. The copy I received was in beautiful condition and arrived quickly.

Great book for teachers working with kids and clay!
As a longtime ceramic art instructor working with children of all ages, this is a fun book to refer to and I've added it to my list of books to tell the parents about with many students wanting to continue to work at home on projects. It's also a good book for adult beginning ceramic crafters. You just need an electric kiln or access to one. I really enjoyed the book!

I love this book and highly recommend it. It could help craft or school teachers, studio owners or adults who want to work in clay. There are great step by step photographs allowing you to make delightful projects inminutes. Handmade Clay Crafts is written for theperson who likes to makecrafts not the serious potter unless they want to have fun with clay.I'vemake most of the projects in the book and I amplanning to sell them craftfairs.
