"Prevention is better than Cure"
I came from India to USA to visit my garnd son in Minneapolis.While in Hennepen County libraray I have seen plenty of books and one of these was "HOME REMEDIES" by Michel VanStraten published in 1998. after going through the contents ,to my surprise EUREKA !I found init ,bothconventional and compemantary medicines for common ailments vizAllopathy,Homeopathy,Naturopathy,Herbopathy,Aromopathy,Occpressure,AlexandersTechs,Yoga,and grandmom's home remidie's etc.This gives option to anybodyto go in for any type of medicine within his reach as these medicinesprevent diseases in the initital stage itself.This is a rare goldbin to thepoor and middleclass.Had it contained Magnetic Therpy,CosmicRay therpy,andDeshanes systems and Unanisystem of Medicines it would be more commen anduniversal. However prevention is better than cure I would like to carrythis trusure to India.

Misleading Title
I was expecting more of a guide for natural remedies to common problems, but the majority of the book focuses on prescription or over-the-counter drugs, and while many common problems are discussed, there are many thatare not.Very disappointing.

I will see many more days.
I have heart disease and hypoglycemia.I had by-pass surgery and stent surgery.This book is exclusive in articles and information in illness related subjects, necessary for enlightenment of diseases, necessary forpeople to learn about symptoms, causes, cures to help them understand theinformation contained in this book.I'm 50 years old and work every daywith help from books like this.

I can sleep again!
I was having a problem sleeping at night.I would sleep for maybe two or three hours and then wake up and stay up till daylight.Since reading your book, and following your instructions, I now go to bed at 11 p.m. and sleepuntil 7 a.m.My daughter-in-law, who is a doctor, says that this book isawesome, and very enlightening.I am a widow and now I sleep with the bookbeside me at nights.Wisdom is Strength. ... Home Medical & Health Guide In 4 Volumes
This set contains 4 volumes with 1363 pages. The information is very comprehensive, practical and complete. It is designed for home use and also can be found in the reference sections of libraries. The information is given in the language of the layperson and is not complicated. The index is easy to use and is comprehensive.
Great for every family
This four volume set is very informative and useful. It contains sections on emergency care, women's health, pediatric health, each area of the body (digestive system, allergies, etc). While it does not diagnose, it does give important information on symptoms, causes, and treatments on just about every medical problem. The index is easy to use and comprehensive. I highly recommend this set.

Every family must have this book
I have read the 1992 edition of this book and have had benefits from using it in making a healthy and far-from-diseases family. The most valuable thing in this book is it's simple and non-specilistic language that makes it very attractive and easy-to- understand for any ages. And more, it includes some aricles about mental and physical health that rarely appears in other similar titles. Now, since beeing a scientific writer, I am going to translate it into Persian to be used by more and more families. ... Read more
