goldstein is a genius!!!!!
not only is dr. jay goldstein a genius in how the brain works, but he has a heart of gold!!!!
Dr. Goldstein's treatment approach was very effective for me
I was housebound and often bedridden for 15 years with severe Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.I tried many treatment approaches but nothing had any beneficial effect.I began working with Dr. Goldstein in 2001, following the experimental drug protocol set forth in this book. I was on the meds he prescribed for 3 years.During that time, I gradually recovered.I am now off the meds, working fulltime, and living a normal life. I know this approach does not work for everyone, but it has worked for many people with CFS, and I would recommend giving it serious consideration.Dr. Goldstein's hypothesis is that CFS is the result of a malfunction of the nervous system in which the neurons are over-responsive to stimuli.Sounds, smells, bright lights, stress, etc. all over-stimulate the over-reactive nervous system, causing fatigue and adrenal exhaustion.This is certainly consistent with my own experience of the illness.The meds reduce synaptic transmission.Over time, they can restore the nervous system to normal functioning.

A Wealth of Information
This book is full of great information about the central nervous system and it's function; how it all works together and how it can affect us when it goes awry.Dr. Goldstein is a genius in his research and approaches to Chronic Fatigue which is such a hard disease to lhave accurately diagnosed from today's medical community.It is equally hard to live with as I am a chronic fatigue sufferer.My only knock on this book is that it does not go into more depth on Dr. Goldstein's treatment plans and hopefully one of his books, or a new one he has soon to be released will.Especially since he has suddenly retired due to illness.I can only hope another doctor will decide to take the challenge and follow in his footsteps and continue the wonderful research and treatments which he has started that has helped many sufferers of this disease; and this knowledge and information will not be lost. ... Good approach to the all-encompassing mind, body and and spirit of women, but needs to go further to be a prope textbook.Consider Gangi's view of holistic health and incorporate it with this one.

A must have for every healthy woman
This book really opens up one's self-awareness.It is a way of life to be taught and learned.I swear and live by this book when it comes to my health and wellness.Highly recommended for any motovated woman.

A superb guidebook.Expensive BUT it works
I am 40 andsuffer from ankylosing sponditis (a form of rheumatoid arthritis) and before I found Dr Murray my back pain was intolerable to the degree I seriously wondered if I would ever have a pain free life again. Dark thoughts entered my head and I grew despondent. Then I found this bookin a local bookstore and said, Why not, what do I have to lose?Well painwas the biggest thing :-).I read the book and have in the past 3 monthsfollowed somewhat faithfully.It is high on vitamins/minerals and that'swhere the cost comes in BUT when you figure what pain killers promise andwhat they deliver it's worth it.I am virtually pain free 75% of the time,sure I have relapses but I have hope and I believe I will be happy andpainfree again much lessdeformed.I love this man and I love this book;what he has done for me goes beyond words.He is answer to a prayer and Ithank him for that. Real breakthrough about arthritis and it works
This is an interesting book with chapters interleaved with thoery and reallife cases studies.Doctor Thomas Mc Pherson explain the causes of thearthritis and it's mode of treatement.He also talks about the actualresearch approches of the treatement of the disease. His approch isdifferent.If we summarize, arthritis is an infection related disease,that can be cured by a simple antibiotic (monocyclin) a derivative oftetracyclin.Both antibiotics can be used for the treatment.He explainsthat a common bacteria (mycoplasm) that live in everybody may outgrownormal levels and trigger immune reaction that is misinterpreted as anautoimmune disease.He give also many evidences for its theory.Duringhis years of pratice doctor Thomas McPherson Brown cured thousands ofpatients of this terrible disease. Best book in its field.
Not only have I read this book, I have used its remedy.In July, 1996 Iwas diagnosed with Lyme Disease, then later with rheumatoid arthritis.Iwas treated for Lyme Disease for about 45 days (which has similarsymptoms).Then my husband found The Arthritis Breakthrough book at ourlocal Waldenbooks.Once I read the book, it was just a matter of findingsomeone who would try the treatment according to the book.I couldn'tbelieve how difficult this was!Rheumatologists are not conditioned tothink "cure", they think "symptomatic".Therefore,even though the treatment is so low risk, nobody I called wanted to listen. Depending on the severity of the disease, the book recommends a beginninglow dose of minocycline and anti-inflammatory.Since I was diagnosedearly, I began 50mg, 3X per week and and anti-inflammatory daily.After 3mos., I discontinued the anti-inflammatory and began taking Aleve as Ineeded it.Over the span of the last 18 mos., the minocyline has beenincreased gradually to the dose I take now of 200mg, 4X a week.I expectto be cured by this November. Before this book, I could barely walk.Now Iam back to a normal life of golf, gardening, swimming, etc.If I couldgive this book 10 stars, it certainly deserves it!It has changed my life. ...
