5-0 out of 5 stars Very helpful
This book has a lot of great suggestions for those dealing with arthritis. It provides techniques for cooking with less pain and effort and has recipes, too!I found it very helpful as a person who works with helpingolder adults cook and care for themselves.I highly recommend it foranyone with arthritis.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good, Helpful, and Tasty!
I got this book, and I liked it very much. I am 14 and have JRA, OA, and Fibro. This book was very helpful, and the recipes were good. I would recommend it. I've read many books, and this is one of the better ones. Ienjoyed the food much!!

3-0 out of 5 stars I have mixed feelings about this book.
I perused this book carefully because I want informationon diet and FMS.There are good definitions of FMS, but the info and recipes seem to begeared toward reducing the "inflamation" of arthritis. As Iunderstand it, FMS is not a condition of inflamation. Thus, my confusion. For forms of inflamatory arthritis conditions it looks excellent. I'd liketo note that I have seen other books that tag FMS on to Arthritis in theirtitles or covers and don't seem to have much specific to FMS. A sellingtechnique, I suppose. This book is attractive and seems very good forarthritis, but not specific for FMS. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The best to date on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Immune Deficiency Disease
It has been awhile since I first read this fine book, but I have not found anything else that comes even close to being as helpful. I keep going back to it for referral.

4-0 out of 5 stars A mixed bag, but generally useful
I would recommend this as a reference source and buying it. It contains very useful information in many areas, such as endocrine problems and yeast etc. I have a few reservations. It only dedicates 5 lines to toxicity and detoxification, which more or less tell you to buy someone else's book. For one of the major contributary factors of Chronic Fatigue in many people, this is not really acceptable. If you are going to write a book about CFS, you can't just leave out key factors. My other reservations about the book are that it tends to mention many rather severe treatments and pharmaceutical drugs where these should only really be used as a last resort if at all, as many natural equivalents are just as effective (e.g. candida control etc). Lastly, the book doesn't clearly differentiate enough between what the reader should do by themselves, and what they should leave to a specialist to really prescribe the right treatment for them. It reads like a list of supplements. Apart from that, it is quite good. A useful overview of CFS, including toxicity, can be found at health-spy dot com.

5-0 out of 5 stars An essential book for people with CFS
I consider this to be one of the best books on CFS ever written. After several years of getting nowhere with various treatments, this book turned my illness around.I'm still not fully recovered, but I have gotten much of my life back, which is priceless. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars easy reader
I found this book to be very brief and to the point. They have a lot of tips that can be incorporated into your daily life routines. The testimonials let you know that you are not alone and that just because of this diagnosis of fibromyalgia may slow you down a little, it should not stop you from living a meaningful life.It brought up to speed and provided some clarity on how to get myself back on my feet again!!

4-0 out of 5 stars The Book helped me be in control and not the disease.
I found this book extremely helpful to myself and a 17yr old girl who was recently diagnosed. We applied the charts and routines and really payed attention to the information.Any disease can gain control of you if youlet it.I have a history of chronic heart disease and have learned thatthere is more to controlling a disease and recognizing how is thebeginning. For this book to be helpful you must be open minded and reallylisten to the message and be honest with yourself in order to get controlof the disease. But I can guarantee anyone with the disease if you applythis book thoroughly it will make all the difference in the world.Mydoctor read the book in order to help treat me and that helped even more. We are only in the beginning of understanding this disease so don't expectyour family and friends to know or understand it, most doctors don'tconsider it unless there is nothing else to call it.But it's real anddebilitating.Try It!

1-0 out of 5 stars Authors need to be more educated
This book sends some very bad messages. It does not explain how the course of fibromyalgia can be mild, moderate, or severe. Some people with severe FMS have incapacitating pain. This book implies, that, if you haveincapacitating pain, you are 'just giving into it', and 'you need to findbetter ways of dealing with your pain than laying in bed'.Unfortunately, people who do not have FMS read books like these, and get the wrongmessages about people with severe FMS.I would not recommend this book. ... Use series of these books as a 3-rd source of study for Step 1 after Kaplan Q-bank and Q-book. A lot of question sare not USMLE-type format and there are a lot of explanations, but some time not consice and "watery"...

This is the Book. The questions r so hard that u must be really stupid. After doing all the BSS books I thought Step1 wasn't that tuff as everyone made it seem to be.

5-0 out of 5 stars Research help and guide
This book is a research guide. It points you to a lot of good information. I would stongly recommend this book if you are new to Scoliosis.

3-0 out of 5 stars A Good Resource
This book isn't for the run-of-the-mill scoliosis patient. There is a good scoliosis overview, but mostly it's information for people who want to do their own research.Ifbooks like The Scoliosis Sourcebook and Stopping Scoliosis aren't as technical as you like, and you want to read the original source material that makes up most of what the medical community knows about scoliosis, this book could be for you. There are hundreds of URLs, which could be an element that quickly makes the material obsolete. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars By far, one of the best!
This is one of the best books on rheumatoid arthritis that I've seen.I usually scan a few pages to get a feel for how the information is presented, and more times than not, I find it's either over my head, poorly organized, or both. Not the case with this book! There's an absolute wealth of information in this book that's both well-presented and easy to understand. Anyone suffering from this condition or who has relatives with rheumatoid arthritis will find the info in this book to be extremely helpful in not only coping with it, but fighting back to regain an active lifestyle. The authors Yu and Fischer did just a wonderful job with this book!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Alifesaver!!
I have been diagnosed with Lupus for almost 40 years, but I was undiagnosed for 10 years. Finally an Internist put together my collection of ailments and diagnosed me as having Lupus. This was such a relief but also a frightening time as 40 years ago Lupus was still a fairly unknown. The blood tests, etc. had not yet been fully developed and what information was out there was pretty negative and scary.
3-0 out of 5 stars Coping With Lupus: Apractical Guide to Alleviating the Chall
I have found this book to be a helpful well rounded guide to Lupus. From the symptoms before diagnosis to after diagnosis, and how to deal with every day challenges and side effects of the disease and treatments.I beleive it is a great jumping off point for the newly diagnosed. It dispells myths, and give a newly diagnosed patient comfort at a time that they may be feeling overwhelmed and desperate by the diagnosis of Lupus. It is a very easy read, as the doctor speaks in layman language rather than complicating things with lot's of medical termonolgy and anatomy terms. For a person who is looking for beginning over view of the disease it is very helpful. But, if you are looking for more datailed information on specific tests, treatments, or the physiology of the disease one would need to look further. ...
