Loved it and hated it
My daughter was diagnosed with CF 4 months ago at the age of 2.5 yrs.I was immediately drawn to books written from the parent perspective (it seems most are written by young adults who have it), and I first read "From a Taste of Salt" and then "Alex".
excelant and touching
i bought this book because my best friend also had lost her life struggling with cf at the young age of 19.i always knew what cf was but never new how life threating it really was.this book was touching and reminded me of my memories with phylicia (1986-2005) she lived life in such a fullfilling way.she qouted in her year book her senior yr of high school one year before she passed "living life as if you are dying is never acually living at all".this book was very touching and i hope other people get a chance to read this book also.

Informative and a great read for kids
This book is terrific.It is great for any child that is in the beginning years of school. It educates the reader about cystic fibrosis and assists children in dealing with classmates or friends who may have cystic fibrosis.My seven year old son thought it was informative and fun to read.There should be more books of this kind. ... Incredible !!
I have been always hooked on LM Books and I have to say this is one of her best. I couldn't put the book down and I finished the book in the middle of the night. My opinion it is a must read. It is sad and heartwarming the same time.

A disappointment
When I was reading the summary of this book, I thought it sounded like a great book. Much to my dissatisfaction, it turned out to be a terrible book. The author moved the stoyr along much to quickly, and it wasn't anywhere near deep, considering the plot. The author didn't draw me into the book. Major Printer Error in the middle of book
I ordered this book for my 3 year old son with cystic fibrosis.When it arrived, to my HORROR in the middle of the book it contained an entirely different book on Lap Band Surgery -- surgery for OBESE people.Grr!First 16 pages contained the correct book, then a 240 page book, then a few more pages.I've asked that the book be re-sent, hopefully, I'll get a NORMAL copy.

I think this book is great.The perspective that it is written from makes it easy for a child to identify with and having the pictures of the treatments and all the children is great.I loved this book becuase it gives people of all ages a a little insight on Cystic Fibrosis.

Excellent book for young children with cystic fibrosis
I have a 5 year old with cystic fibrosis and he was so excited to see pictures of other children having to do what he does every day - use a vest, nebulizer, take enzymes, etc. He just kept repeating "just like me".This has certainly helped him to not feel like he is the only one. ... Read more

All Around Awesome
I picked up this book at my local bookstore because i absolutely adore Lurlene McDaniel's books. They are so heartwrenching and tug at your heart strings. This book was especially great. I read it in two days and could not put it down. i recently bought her 2nd part to the novel. This book is absolutely incredible and if youre into those heart-breaking-loving-romantic stories this is the book for you. Anyone can relate to this story no matter what. Not only is this a great read but its educational.i learned a lot about CF and how it effects people. PICK THIS BOOK UP TODAY!

it was so hearbreaking
I loved this book!I still do love this book!I am so happy that I chose this book randomly off the bookshelf at the book store, because if I hadn't then I wouldn't have gotten to read "Till Death Do Us Part".
A book of my experience
As the widow of a man with cystic fibrosis I can relate to this book as if it was my own. I was amazed at the reality used in this book and how true it can be to the actual feelings that a person feels in this situation. When my husband asked me to marry him at age 23 (me being 19) I agreed thinking that we would have many happy years together. However after being married exactly one year to the date his CF worsened and he passed away after 1 year, 6 months of marriage. For Those Who Need To Know
Cystic fibrosis ismuch more than a chronic, life-threatening medical condition. The disease is bad enough, but it has far-reaching effects on many parts of the body. Those who suffer with it are condemned to a very complicated way of life they'd never voluntarily choose. Friends, family and loved ones are affected by it too.
This book is for EVERYONE involved with cystic fibrosis; not just teens.
Although the book goes under the heading of being a "The Ultimate Teen Guide," for teenagers with cystic fibrosis, I think that is much to confining a categorization.This is a book that EVERYONE involved with cystic fibrosis should read.Children probably should not read it until their teen years, but parents should read it long before their child reaches the teen years.Doctors and nurses should read it in their student years.Extended family members - grandparents, aunts and uncles - should read it so they really learn what cystic fibrosis is all about.I think parents of children with cystic fibrosis sort of insulate their families from knowing what cystic fibrosis is really about and this book explains it in a vividly accurate but extremely readable manner.Parents of children with cystic fibrosis would do well to buy more than one copy, wrap them up and give them to the rest of their family.I wish we had something like this when we needed it instead of just a few pamphlets and folders.

Cystic fibrosis through a patient's eyes
'Robyn's Book' is a collection of short stories, anecdotes and reflections on being a young person with cystic fibrosis. Miller essays many of the aspects of life, from being a frightened teenager in the hospital to coping with chronic disease in college, with a bright, clear, descriptive eye. Many of the chapters are loving tributes to friends who succumbed to CF and other illnesses; others offer her responses to letters from readers.
Powerful and Amazing
I read this book ten years ago, and I still am touched by it today. It was one of the best works I have ever read - which I did through one day without ever wanting to put this down. This book isn't just about a sick girl with c.f - its about life. It makes you think and cry.

A Book That Opens Eyes....
Robyn Miller died of cystic fibrosis at the age I am at now...with years of medical research, we are now to the point where people with Robyn's illness, have a median life age of 30. This was a very interesting book indeed. Set in a medieval town called Hameln in 1284, this book is about a boy named Salz who has cystic fibrosis (although they didn't call it that at that time) and has to do all kinds of crazy things just to stay alive. He has to avoid beer, stand on his head, and belong to a coven to name a few. As the story progresses the town becomes infested with rats and a very strange disease. Eventually the whole village is plunged into madness and Salz is accused of witchcraft. This story---which is based on the pied piper legends---would be ideal for the history buff in your family and would make an excellent Christmas gift!

The fight to save lives of people who suffers from cystic fibrosis.
Cystic fibrosis is the most common genetic disease in the country and it is incurable. The lungs of people with cystic fibrosis become covered with a sticky mucus making them extremely susceptible to bacterial infection. Over time these infections badly scar the lungs, until eventually they stop functioning. The defective CF gene is harmless when only a single copy of the gene is inherited. However, if both parents carry the gene, this will give any child they may have a 25% chance of being born with cystic fibrosis.
An Excellent Book on CF Care
This book accurately describes the disease cystic fibrosis (CF) and offers guidance in self-management on day to day problems.As a mother of a son who has CF, I highly recommend this book to any family dealing with CF.

A must have if you are a CF Parent
I eagerly await the 3rd edition of this book.As a fully involved CF parent, my 8y/o daughter's care has benefited from my increased knowledge.I can form theories and question her caregivers from a more informed perspective and that is a win-win situation.If you have a child with CF, you should have this book.I call it the CF Bible.(Although encyclopedia would be a more accurate description.)I feel this book should be given to the parents of all newly diagnosed children. ...
