1-0 out of 5 stars This looks like fraud
I did this treatment for my son with Autism. We went to a local practitioner and paid about $125 per hour and it did not work.

3-0 out of 5 stars Does NAET work? Evidence to the contrary.
I'll keep this short because the book is well reviewed by others. You must go to a licensed practitioner of this art to receive treatments ... dozens of treatments. If you are persuaded by this book, it will still take your faith in the writer and endorsers to embark on a series of treatments that will take many hours of your time and thousands of dollars - with no warranty expressed or implied, if you know what I mean.

THIS IS NOT A SELF-HELP BOOK as I had thought. As the doctor notes on page xxxv :The framework of this book is drawn from a formal dissertational I submitted as a basis for my doctorate degree"__.

1-0 out of 5 stars The Gluten-Free Bible
There are serious inaccuracies in this book that can cause a great deal of stress for a celiac. The section on medications with gluten is especially troubling as it causes someone who thought they were safe to worry for no reason. Most troubling is her treatment of the risks of cancer. Her treatment is both superficial, incaccurate and unrealistic. First she says that the risk is the same whether you maintain a gluten free diet or not. Then she says that the only thing you can do about it is to not worry about it. Her discussion of picking food out of a sandwiches is poor advice. In one section she understands the problems of cross contamination, yet doesn't seem to understand that picking apart food is more of a risk than using a toaster. Finally, her flip advice about how to avoid answering questions is ridiculous. Why not be honest instead of avoiding the questions. It's up to the person as to how many details they want to give. But avoiding the issue is not the answer.

5-0 out of 5 stars By far the best and the most fun to read...
I started with Bette Hagman's books and was under-whelmed, to say the least. If you want plain ol' comfort food, Bette is the place to go, but for my tastebuds and style of dining, Jax is the WOMAN!!
1-0 out of 5 stars Do not hear, do not obey...
If you have a mild to moderate gluten intolerance, you can MAYBE follow this book's advice and be safe. If you have full on Celiac Disease, you will find yourself sick in a single digestive cycle!

5-0 out of 5 stars Yes, it is hard to accept but it has relieved my asthma greatly..
After a lifetime of being told that salt is bad for me, I finally let go and started to use celtic sea salt liberally (as prescribed in the book). At first I only drank the water, but adding the salt completely maximized my progress. At 4 separate times this past weekend, I stopped my own asthma attacks at each onset. It took me about 7-10 minutes each time. It took alot for me not to use my inhaler, and to just give the water & salt a chance to work.I am extremely grateful and rather emotional about it, since I thought I would be on my proventil inhaler for the rest of my life. The inhaler has caused a number of side effects, and I am now planning a detox to remove the residue of this drug from my body, which I've been dependent on for more than 27 years. And I've only been doing this seriously for 2 weeks, (and getting better with each day). I thank "Dr.B" for giving me my health back (along with hundreds of others whose testimonials I've read on the www.watercure2.com site). These are the same testimonials I was so compelled to read again and again, because I just could not believe and accept that something so simple could cure this disease that left me so weak and scared about the future of my health. Not to mention, very likely preventing other diseases I would be on the road towards. I suppose this is my own testimonial, because it really happened, and I hope that readers searching for an answer will forget their fears (that it won't work) and try it. Yes, it is still hard even for me to believe...even though it continues to work for me. But I do know for sure that I will never stop Dr.B's water & salt prescription. I will say this - if you want your health back, just take it back by taking action.

1-0 out of 5 stars Very Poor
No real info other than what I already knew. There was a small two sentence reference to the info I was seeking.A real rip-off!I'm going to return the book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good advice, but add magnesium for even better results
There is significant evidence that the root cause of many, if not most, cases of asthma (and many allergies as well) is deficiency of magnesium. This fact is discussed in detail by Dr. Carolyn Dean in her excellent book The Miracle of Magnesium. Dr. Dean recommends 600 mg of supplemental magnesium daily. People with asthma who follow Dr. Dean's advice about daily magnesium supplementation often improve dramatically even if they have continued to struggle with asthma under other treatments which omit magnesium supplementation. If you are suffering from asthma please read Dr. Dean's excellent book and follow her advice regarding daily magnesium supplementation. It may well be the most important thing you will ever due to relieve this terrible ailment. By the way, although a variety of magnesium supplements are available, and beneficial, chelated magnesium -- which is readily available in most health food stores -- is the most effective. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Didn't work for me
First of all, I didn't think the book was very well written - it needed much tighter editing. Many points are repeated over and over again, and I found several typos. It is also heavily aimed at Americans with poor diets.
5-0 out of 5 stars "Fatigue of unknown origin" is not a diagnosis
At 29, I suddenly started feeling sick all the time.Doctors tested me for everything under the sun but found nothing. They "diagnosed" me with "Fatigue of unknown origin".By pure chance, I happened upon The Yeast Connection and it explained everything.I followed his diet recomendations and felt better almost immediately.I can't imagine what my life would be like if I hadn't figured out how my diet and lifestyle were making me sick.I have cut out processed food and sugar, and now eat a diet mainly of organic whole vegetables and whole grains and I feel terrific.

Of the large numbers of books on this subject, this one offered little new information.I did see a few recipes that appealed, but could have easily skipped this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Candidia Albican Yeast-Free Cookbook, The: How Good Nutrition Can Help Fight the Epidemic of Yeast-Related Diseases
This book has helped answer many of my questions regarding Candida and has explained what I can expect as I go through the healing process. It is very informative in relation to diet and has good recipes to make the plain food we have to eat a little more exciting.

4-0 out of 5 stars Easy Candida Recipes
I thought this book was very helpful. What I liked most was the "rainbow meal plan" which listed the vegetables and meat combinations you could have on this diet at every meal.Because there are so many vegetables/meat combinations to choose from you shouldn't get bored. The plan also recommends steaming for all your food so it's easy to prepare - all you need is water, a pot and a steamer. The downside is you do have to chop a lot of veggies - however, it's worth it! I also had a hard time with another recipe which called for "Homemade Potassium Baking Powder" pg.83. In the recipe the book says to use potassium bicarbonate which can be ordered from a pharmacy. However, when I went to pick up my bicarbonate it had a skull and cross bone on the bottle and was rated somewhat toxic. When I talked to the pharmacist he said I needed to know what percentage of the potassium bicarbonate was called for because potassium bicarbonate is a strong base.Anyway I had no way to get that information so I skipped that recipe. So obviously the book should be more detailed about things like that.Yet even with this snaffoo I thought the book was helpful and still use most recipes. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Most Complete Allergy Book Out There
As a mother of a child with severe food allergy and a food allergy support group leader, I am so thank ful for this book. I look at it almost every day for tips and guidance. I also recommend it to friends and family. It is the most complete allergy book out there.

5-0 out of 5 stars From Helplessness to Empowerment
My toddler grandson was diagnosed with severe peanut allergies, after a very frightening "first" experience with peanut butter. Since I am involved in his care, I've listened carefully to his parents as they've explained the use of the EpiPen, and how to manage an anaphylactic reaction. I must admit that I once felt a sense of confusion and helplessness. Since reading this book, I feel much more empowered and confident that I will be able to properly manage an emergency situation with him. We now have a family plan, should an emergency arise, as well as signed consent forms, and a step-by-step checklist.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Tips & Ideas On Safely Eating Out With Gluten/Food Allergies!
This book has been very helpful as a mom of a 2 yr old food allergy child. When my daughter was diagnosed with a couple of severe food allergies and many sensitivies, we had not dined out for a while. This book has helped to truly understand what to look out for and how to manage the eating out process. It's easy to use and I was impressed by the tips and knowledge relating to dealing with the specific top 10 allergens when dining out.Not only does it deal with the 10 allergens but relates them to each of the 7 cuisines such as Indian, American Steak and Seafood, French, etc. giving helpful tips on how allergens may be "hidden" or used in preparation that you would never expect. The book helps you to identify these items and communicate effectively with the restaurant staff. In addition, there is also useful information on safely choosing snacks when you are out, travel, etc.The book has helped me gain confidence in dining out as a family again. The book is a great read for those with celiac, food allergies or even parents of children with food allergies!
5-0 out of 5 stars the first of its kind
"Let's Eat Out!" will make you hungry and give you the power to protect yourself from food allergies at the same time. This series is an amazingly comprehensive guide that is sure to help thousands of people to feel more in control of their lives.

5-0 out of 5 stars the bible on GF cooking
This is the bible when it comes to baking gluten-free. Long ago, before the Internet was publicly available, people had to find information anyway they could on living GF and coeliac disease. When this book was first published in the early to mid-1990s, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Before this book, I had a few recipes from the Celiac Society of America (CSA) and the Gluten-Intolerance Group (GIG), and a couple of really bad cookbooks from the UK (which usually relied on GF flour (wheat flour with the gluten washed) that wasn't readily available in the US and didn't bake all that well. The recipes in all of Bette Hagman's books are great -- staples that you longed for. Lentil chocolate cake -- even the non-coeliacs will want some!

5-0 out of 5 stars The original and still the most comprehensive
I have celiac disease, which is essentially an allergy to wheat protein, and I've been GF for 5 years now. (Why does that sound like I'm at an AA meeting?) Bette Hagman's books are the first couple of books that I got, and they're pretty good. *GFG-Revised* is a really great book with a lot of the staples that you need in there. The initial couple of chapters about what you can and can't eat are worth the price of the book (sure, you can't have wheat, rye, or barley, but how about quinoa, teff, spelt, or millet?) (Answers: yes, yes, no, yes.) but the recipes are what you should buy it for. The "Revised" edition has been updated with the new "four bean flour" blend.
3-0 out of 5 stars OK, but not exactly "gourmet"...
I was disappointed in this book.I guess I expected more than meatloaf, cheese balls, tuna casserole and beef stroganoff...

5-0 out of 5 stars Can you tell I really like this book!
"Sinus Survival: A Self-help Guide" by Robert Ivker (isbn: 1585420581) This `survival' book is amazing. (In contrast to "The Sinus Cure" by Debra Fulghum Bruce, which in my opinion, okay, I'll say it: "sucks").I've owned both books for five+ years now.In short, the `survival' book gives me plenty of `knowledge meat' to work with, while the `cure' book didn't tell me anything that I didn't already know. The `survival' book, on the other hand, I refer to every year, and learn (or relearn) more than I did before.Dr Ivker, is a sinusitis sufferer himself, went the extra hoops beyond MD to become DO and has many self-help options in here. He includes a thorough exploration of what EMT-physicians consider, and/or exams to possibly do, or surgeries, etc and why.True to his word, I've followed his steps and have become someone who regularly had two or more sinus infections every year, to someone who has been infection-free for five and counting. And for those earlier unfortunate times while suffering from one, I still gained immediate relief (beyond the antibiotics) from some specific steps he recommends. Can you tell I really like this book! Lol's

4-0 out of 5 stars A Roadmap to Relief
I had suffered for years with sinus problems - taking antibiotics, losing time from work, feeling depressed and hopeless.
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent & comprehensive.
After reading everything on this and related subjects, 50+ books, I discovered this one, and as a sufferer of sinus infection and allergies, 2 sinus operations, 10 years of allergy shots, more anti-biotics than anyone would believe, I conclude that this book is correct on sinus infection & surgery, allergies, medication and prevention. After my second sinus operation, I told the surgeon about this book, who now recommends it to her patients. The nasal irrigation described in this book is usually more effective than any prescription, with no side effects. Just do it all the time, not just AFTER you become ill.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent resource
The information is coherent and well organized.Yes, it is possible one can glean much of the information from other sites on the Internet. However, doing so would take twice as long as reading the book and one can never tell when they are receiving advice from a real doctor or a quack. Everything in this book is backed by a Clinical Professor at Harvard. Not only does that offer peace of mind, it also gives you an upper hand when trying to get the correct medication from your doctor."I read in this book by Ralph B Metson from Harvard..." goes a lot farther than "I read on an Internet site somewhere..." I wish I could have read this book years ago.

This is a good book if you know nothing at all about your sinus condition. However, I had already gathered much of this information from good websites. There were a couple of interesting things that I wasn't aware of, but the bottom line is, how is this going to help me?Is it going to give me new ideas so I can get better?Unfortunately, it didn't.If you've already tried nasal irrigations, decongestants, steroid sprays, antihistamines, possible allergy shots and antibiotics, then you know all you can know about treating sinusitis without surgery. If you are facing surgery, then maybe the chapters on what to expect will be useful.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best for machine bread!
I love this book! I needed a bread book. When I decided to omit wheat and gluten, I ordered several cookbooks. My main problem was baking a loaf of bread. I got the packaged mixes, but the taste was all wrong. I tried several recipes on line, but they were written for hand kneading and I have a bread machine lifestyle.
5-0 out of 5 stars Its title says it all - "The Best"
I can't believe no one has written a review for this excellent cookbook yet.I just finished making the Banana-Pineapple Muffin recipe this morning and couldn't wait to taste them hot out of the oven.I have made several recipes from the authors' previous cookbook ("125 Best Gluten-Free Recipes"), so I know how good the recipes can be. But I was still surprised at how "normal" the muffins looked and tasted. The texture looks like they could have been made with regular flour instead brown rice flour, sorghum, and flaxmeal!I've been baking gluten-free breads and muffins for a year since being diagnosed with Celiac Disease and I have had the most success when using the Washburn & Butt cookbooks. I especially like their bread machine recipes--always tastey. My favorite so far is "Henk's Flax Bread" which tasted like whole wheat bread. I can't recommend this book enough for beginners. And besides the bread recipes, there are loads of recipes for all kinds of meals you can make for the entire family. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed - It is advertisement of NAET
I got the book and then tried NAET method of allergy removal. Looks like fad.

5-0 out of 5 stars NAET works
I suffered from depression most of my life.I also had hay fever, and did the desensitizing with injections three times. (Every time I moved, the hay fever came back.)I was on prozac for years.
2-0 out of 5 stars Not as thrilled as I'd Hoped
The idea behind this book is exceptionally appealing, but I was a bit disappointed in what I actually got.It is basically an advertisement for the NAET method of allergy removal. That method might very well do everything claimed, but I was hoping to get some insight into what I might do for MYSELF.That was missing.Instead, an introduction into the struggles of the author, some of the theory behind energy therapy, and a basic introduction into muscle testing.Past that, the reader is encouraged to find the nearest practitioner for actual allergic relief. ... Book was in great shape and was soon in my mail box.
5-0 out of 5 stars The NAET Guide Book by Devi Nambudripad
I was recommended to "Dr.Devi" by my older sister, who was treated for severe food allergies through NAET.I've been a patient for over a year now, and this book really helps you understand the process and encourages you through your journey of better health.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Clear Information
I had reviewed this in the past and given it 5 stars. This is my updated comments. When I was treated with a N.A.E.T. type therapy my doctor actually didn't follow this method used here which may of been less effective for all I know. I didn't find this treatment to be as helpful as I had hoped. It may be in part due to the fact that I have multiple food sensitivies instead of just a few.I strongly feel though that the cause of the problem like a weak immune system needs to be addressed before any other treatment can be lasting.I am going to an Naturopath now and she says that this treatment in the long run hasn't been found to be lasting.Diane ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Good book, but magnesium supplementation also helps
This book is helpful in that the factors discussed in it can contribute to, and exacerbate, allergies and asthma. But there is significant evidence that the root cause of many, if not most, cases of asthma and allergies is deficiency of magnesium. This fact is discussed in detail by Dr. Carolyn Dean in her excellent book The Miracle of Magnesium. Dr. Dean recommends 600 mg of supplemental magnesium daily. People with asthma and/or allergies who follow Dr. Dean's advice about daily magnesium supplementation often improve dramatically even if they have continued to struggle with these ailments under other treatments which omit magnesium supplementation. If you are suffering from asthma or allergies please read Dr. Dean's excellent book and follow her advice regarding daily magnesium supplementation. It may well be the most important thing you will ever due to relieve these ailments. By the way, although a variety of magnesium supplements are available, and beneficial, chelated magnesium -- which is readily available in most health food stores -- is the most effective form. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Source of Information
I bought the book immediately after finding out that my daughter was allergic to milk. This book has offered a great deal of information regarding food allergies and how to deal with them when your child has one or more.It has also provided me some comfort, partly by educating me on the topic and partly by letting me know that others deal with the same fears and emotions that I am going through.Having a child with a life threatening condition such as this is so scary and stressful, but this book helps you to deal with that by giving you useful information and tips that have been used by the author in her own struggles with food allergic children.

5-0 out of 5 stars Susan
My son has 11 food allergies and when I left his doctors office I didn't know what I was going to do.I bought this book after reading some of the reviews.I read the whole book within a couple of nights. Marianne's writing is like she talking with you and not lecturing. Her topics are easy to understand and gave me confidence that I could do this. The suggestions she gives are do able and since she has also has a child with allegies she gives suggestions and not a list of what to worry about like I received at the docotors office. I have recommended this book to the women in our support group, thanks to Marianna I now belong to.

4-0 out of 5 stars great for parents new to food allergies

1-0 out of 5 stars It didn't work
We spent a lot of time and money on Naet and it simply didn't work.
5-0 out of 5 stars This Book is a Life saver!
My children suffered from many food allergies. Our lives were on a standstill before we found out about NAET. Now after treating all known food and environmental allergies, we have our lives back. we go out to restaurants regularly. I don't have to read the fine labels on the products anymore when I shop in the super market. We can go camping, to the mountains, to the ocean without any trace of our past problems.Thank you Dr. Devi for writing and publishing this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Helped in eliminating my son's food allergies
Although the book won't teach you how to get rid of food allergies it's a great resource for anyone who is or is thinking about getting rid of their child's allergies through NAET.The book is full of case studies that helped me see the not so obvious ways that my son's allergies where manifesting themselves. My son was allergic to soy, garlic, tomatoes, celery, bananas plus a whole lot of other things. The thought of eating in a restaurant was just a dream for our family. After being treated using Dr. Devi's technique we are cured and go out to restaurants all the time without any allergic reactions.Buy this book... ...
