Wonderful book
When I first obtained this book, I read it cover to cover to learn what they didn't teach me in massage school.I now keep it in my office and use it as a reference for helping my clients understand their health conditions.It is easy to understand and gives many alternative healing methods for conditions not discussed in other books.

Great Resource for National Certification exam
The pathology guide was concise and much needed in studying for the national certification exam for massage.By studying this book, I found out that there was some stuff I didn't learn in massage school but needed for the national exam. Who would have known?
Buyer Beware- incorrect information
All you have to do is look at the referances the author sited for this book to be scared by it- few and unreliable.Please note that there are sections in here that are absolutely incorrect. If you just want to pass National cert. this is a great book.But if you honor your proffession and wish to know pathology - not just what National Cert asks you (often incorrectly).... Very useful dermatopathology book
Wonderfull book, it has a summary table for each entity very useful for fast look, a lot of color images of great cuality and a text concise, precise and exact.

A comprehensive dermatopathology reference; easy to read.
It took quite some time for me to choose a dermatopatholgy reference. your search forthe perfectbook on eating disorders is over!
Karen is spot on with this book. Well organized and well written, Karen gets right down to the point that anyone with a eating disorder can relate to. It's easy to refer back to over and over again and great to keep in your tote bag in case of the need for emergancy support. Though she makes the process of normal eating seem like a walk in the park, she reminds the reader that it takes time and effort. But everything she says makes so much sense.

Exchanges are the foundation of weight and blood sugar managment.
There is nothing more basic for weight and blood sugar management than the food exchanges. They are called exchanges because the foods in each group can be exchanged with each other and still supply a similar amount of calories, proteins, carbohydrates, fats and other nutrients. "The Official Pocket Guide to Dieabetic Exchanges" is an excellent resource fordescribing the nature and benefits of the exchanges.
Exactly what the Dietician ordered!
This is exactly what my dietician wrote up for me to follow yet in a condensed, easy to follow, easy to tote reference.It outlines a basic plan for eating.For me, knowing the amount of calories per serving for each of the food groups really helped.

A TRUE GOD SEND
This is one THE best books I have ever read about Lupus. As a Lupus sufferer, it is important to know aspects of this illnesses. This book goes from the diagnostic phaze to the definition of and the treatment of Lupus. It is very detailed and concise in its approach. Doctor Wallace must be one heck of a rheumatologist because he took very complex subject matter and made it coherent for the average American. This book is filled with information on various treatments for Lupus, a prolifera of testing procedures and an explanation of co exsisting autoimmune diseases. Any individual with Lupus, their families, physicians and social workers should have this truly well constructed text!
A God Send
This book is one of the best out there on Lupus.Mr. Wallace disects the disease into many parts because Lupus had many frustrating facets to it.After reading this book, I am going to talk to my doctor who does not think that I have Lupus, because I don't fit neatly into a box.I can't wait to tell this doctor that my last blood test showed the anitphospholipid levels were extremely high.I noticed it, he didn't.Thank you Mr. Wallace for naming the symptoms, and the cause of it.My "gut feeling" was right.

It worked for me!
I got this book last year.It is simple and easy to read. I ordered the supplements immediately.In 3 months I had lowered my cholesterol 28 points so the Dr. did not make me try a prescription.Even with a foot injury and not exercising, the eating habits and taking the phytosterols this year, my cholesterol was down even more.I highly recommend it!

Really Helpful Book
This workbook is good for many reasons.It is written in a way that is easy to read, and very interesting.It does not seem at all like a dry textbook.It covers everything from defining eating disorders, to the root of the problem, to steps to take to begin recovering.I would highly recommend it for all ages.

Easy to follow instructions, but can be improved
The step-by-step instructions are easy to follow.It would have been better if the authors had given guidelines on how to judge when to move on to the next phase of recovery, and how to deal with feelings that arise at each stage.

Using with my therapist and DBT
This book breaks it down and then builds you up on a path to recovery. I use it as part of the things I pick up when I absolutely don't know what to do next and the disease is beating down my door. Very well written. Highly recommended for the bullimic that is ready for recovery. ... Read more

Waste of money
I'm giving this book such a low rating because of the ridiculous price. I bought it and read it a few years ago and I never feel the need to make reference to it. I question the actual value of the exercises. Recently when I was doing basic military training, I was doing some small knee circles before morning pt. One of the medical officers in my platoon walked over to me and said "stop that, that won't do a thing for you". For what I paid to read about this technique, that should have been the last thing on the mind of a medical professional.

Mediocrity Holds Sway
I bought this book on the grounds that it would aid me in correcting my posture and improving mobility. That it does. It has drills for the active as well as the "soft living" sedentary folks, young and old alike. A great deal of which require a period to work up to if you're not the most flexible individual.This book holds fast to Dragon Door standards of large font, a slightly repetitive nature and directing many explanations and concepts to other books from the publisher.Super Joints is not the most compelling literary work out there, but it will suffice. ... My Mom is taking this book to the doctor for discussion points
This book recommends using it to help discuss with your doctor the PD medications, which is exactly what my Mom is going to do today. When I saw this book recently it was what my Mom had been wishing for to help her figure out how to help my Dad, who is developing Parkinson's hallucinations and paranoia issues after many years of battling this disease. These are known problems from both the disease, as well as the medications to treat the illness. The book gave me renewed hope and optimism for helping my Dad be more himself again. Adjustments of the various prescribed medications can make a difference in life quality by balancing medication negative side effects with their benefits. My Mom is taking my Dad to the doctor today to discuss his medications and she taking this book with her. It's nice to know she has the Mayo clinic doctor, in essence, to take with her to discuss points with the local doctor.

PNF in Practice

A severe program for a person with a severe problem
I think the maximum benefit of this book comes to a person with a serious binging problem.The first part of the book describes the nature of food addiction and gives many examples.The second part of the book descibes the recommended food plan for people with a food addiction.The food plan is extreme - but probably appropriate for treating a severe problem.
This book improved the quality of my life.
I grew up crying myself to sleep for overeating: hating myself wondering why I couldn't stop forcing food in my face even though I was horrified by any extra weight and my stomach was beyond full. Why didn't the threat of being heavy stop me? Why was I eating when I was way past full? Why could I not stop myself when what I really wanted was to stop myself?
Saved my life
After 50 years of active food addiction, I am abstinent for four years using the work of Kay Sheppard described in this book. As a result of this abstinence, a whole new life has opened up to me. I recommend this book to those for whom food intake or withholding is an issue. It saved my life.

Easier Recipes Needed
Hello-I really enjoyed reading this book. Heather's personal story and advice for IBS suffers is useful (at least for me). Although she does lay out the basic nutritional information on fiber and other trigger foods. Her recipes are far too complicated, I'm a graduate student with very little time for cooking. So the recipes are just too time consuming. I need easier and faster recipes. Some of the breakfast ideas fit into my lifestyle, but the dinners are complicated, although they sound delicious. Perhaps someday I will have time to try them. If Heather (the author) is reading this, please write a recipe book with easier and faster IBS safe recipes. I'd definately buy it! Thanks!

New lease on life!!

Eating for IBS- A Review
EATING FOR IBS is an excellent source of useful information for persons diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).The author (an IBS sufferer herself) writesclearly and with the compassion and understanding of a person who had lived with the symptoms of IBS for years before a correct diagnosis was made.However, she was not provided withinformation about managing the symptoms on a daily basis.On her own shedevised a regimen of safe foods, herbal teas and a natural soluble fiber supplement that (from my personal experience) works to effectively manage IBS symptoms.She identifies certain foodsthat can cause problems and should be avoidedor eaten very carefully,for instance with soluble fiber. The discussion of the differences between soluble and insoluble fiber and their effect on the digestive system and IBSis the most informative and thorough of anything I have read.

A book that is continuously updated
An amazing book.I came to know it by being a student in the class that the authors teach at UC Irvine--AIDS Fundamentals (by far the most informative and interesting class I have ever taken). I read the second edition, originally--the great thing about this book is that it is consistantly updated textbook--if you read each edition as it appears, you keep up with the developments. This is a book to be read over and over.

This looks like fraud
I did this treatment for my son with Autism. We went to a local practitioner and paid about $125 per hour and it did not work.

Does NAET work? Evidence to the contrary.
I'll keep this short because the book is well reviewed by others. You must go to a licensed practitioner of this art to receive treatments ... dozens of treatments. If you are persuaded by this book, it will still take your faith in the writer and endorsers to embark on a series of treatments that will take many hours of your time and thousands of dollars - with no warranty expressed or implied, if you know what I mean.

Clear and valuable
