Chapters varies in quality
A must buy for pathologists interested in hempath... since books in this topics are so scanty.Other well written books (e.g. Contemporary issue series) were outdated.
Encyclopedic and very useful
I find this book with its encyclopedic bend extremely useful on those more difficult or rare cases. This is NOT a replacement for Foucar/Farhi/WHO type books or an atlas. There are very few useful images.....what you get is a much more in depth review of IHC/flow data that can't be found in any other book. There are also great tables.

A Rare Opportunity
After having read all of Marion Woodman's books and participating in two workshops at Esalen and one with Robert Bly in San Francisco, it was very exciting for me to be able to read this very intimate personal journal of her own spiritual and psychological process. In her lectures this wonderful woman is so open and honest and present and she is even more so in this book.It took my breath away to travel this moving difficult path with her.If you know Marion and love her this book is a must read.If you don't have any experience with her or Jungian theory I think it will be hard to follow since much of it assumes familiarity with her theories of the conscious feminine.She is a deep thinker with complex feelings.She models for us how to practice what she teaches.The book is also filled with her favorite poems and passages from the writers who inspired her teaching career before she went to Zurich to study Jung.There are also glimpses into her long and fruitful marriage to Ross and even a postscript from him to the reader.I am waiting for her book on the demon lover which she alludes to in this book. I love this book.There is much to savor and learn on many dimensions.

Blood and Marrow Stem Cell Transplantation
This book is an excellent resource for BMT nurses. We use it at our center for quick reference, and for training new BMT nurses. It covers diseases that are treated with transplantation, effects of transplant on each organ system, different conditioning regimens and specific side effects common to each, oncologic emergies, nursing interventions, quality of life issues, future trends in BMT, ethical questions, and much more. The 1997 edition differs most notably from the 1991 issue in that the pediatric chapter was omitted. The book is thorough and user friendly, with easy to read charts that organize information for quick reference. This book is a lifeline for a parent
I cannot overstate how helpful this book was to me.My daughter was diagnosed with Wilms (kidney) cancer 14 months ago.This book was given to me several days after her initial diagnosis and I turned to it many, many times over the long journey to recovery.Even today, with my daughter happily in remission, I turn to it for help in dealing with late side effects and the emotional consequences of the rollercoaster that is childhood cancer.Of all the books I have read over the past 14 months (and there have been many - I'm an avid reader), this one was absolutely the best.If I could, I would buy up all the copies and give it to every parent of a child with a solid tumor.

A must have
I am a Pediatric Oncology Nurse that buys these books to give to the newly diagnosised families.All of them have told me that it is a wonderful tool.

An Honest Account with a Sense of Humor
For those interested in a truly honest account of the transplant experience, as seen through the eyes of a devoted wife, this is a real page-turner. It describes the challenges and frustration they endure, her determination to make her husband a survivor so that he can see their baby grow up, and is sprinkled with a sense of humor that will make you laugh. It's so good, I read it twice!
Naomi Zikmund Fisher's book was a wonderful read.You want to know how the story ends.Ms. Zikmund-Fisher gives you the human face of a caregiver and the energy it takes to be one--not a white-washed version of the transplant process.You share her and her families fears and uncertainties.You also experience her joys and successes along the way.Read more

Powerful and deeply moving

a remarkable study of a terrible disaster
I bought this remarkable book last year and have recommended it to several people. I know next to nothing about medicine, so it came as a revelation. When I was a child in the 1960s, this mysterious horror always lurked in the distance, terrifying but incomprehensible. Like nuclear fallout or the mercury poisoning of Minamata, thalidomide was an important symbol of Frankenstein technology, but I didn't read a proper study of the nightmare until I read 'Dark Remedy' last year.
