My friend sent me this book and I found it answered questions and confirmed facts of things I always believed. Yet the book goes even farther than my thoughts and fantasies dared to go. Excellent meditation cd!
John Edward takes you on a beautiful journey to a tropical island where you will cleanse yourself and bask in the light of the universe. Imagine white light descending upon you and massaging your entire body removing all negativity. You will also, open and align your chakras, learn how to relax through breathing exercises and meditation, which will prepare you for meeting your guides and angels. You will listen to a guided meditation to meet your spirit guides, animal guide and those who have passed on. John, as we all know tends to talk very fast, well there is no exception here, only he talks a bit quieter and there is quiet hypnotic music in the background that helps one relax. I've heard a lot of tapes on this subject, and think very highly of this one. I even use it in my classes and have had great success with it.

Good meditations, just talks too fast
I really have enjoyed John Edward's meditations, especially the one "meeting my spiritual guides". What bothers me is he just talks way too fast and doesn't give you a chance to linger in the meditation. One meets their guide and John Edward instructs to ask several rapid questions such as their name, what I am to learn during this meditation and before he takes a breath and gives a chance to hear the answers we are asked to say good bye. I would of liked it better if he guides us to ask prepared questions on the instructional side of the tape and gives a chance to hear the answer to our question while he stays quiet for a minute. Lightweight?
Makes for a pleasant albeit bloated read. My impression is that most people would do well beginning with self-hypnosis and many would be fine sticking just to self-hypnosis.Temes' focus seems to be on wide coverage, i.e. showing all the things that hypnosis may help with.
Excellent book for the lay reader!
This book is superb for the average reader, because it tells so much about hypnosis. It does not seem to be intended to teach a lay person HOW to be a hypnotherapist, because for that one has to first be a qualified health professional, such as a psychologist or a physician. So, if one wants to learn a lot ABOUT hypnosis, read this book.

Great Introduction to Hypnosis
If you don't know much about hypnosis, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Hypnosis is a great introduction to self-hypnosis and choosing a hypnotist or hypnotherapist.The author dispels many common myths and provides a good historical overview.The portions of the book on self-hypnosis probably aren't comprehensive enough to allow for mastery, but they are certainly a good beginning.The strongest parts of the book deal with addressing common fears associated with being subjected to hypnosis.Like all Idiot's Guides, it is a pleasant and fast-moving book to read...quite enjoyable. ... AWESOME! WORKED IMMEDIATELY!
Right after reading the book I hypnotized my friend to think he was a duck. Then I made him think he was a cow. Then, after having a good laugh, I finally said he was an elephant. Boy, was that funny! He was acting like he was stuck and asked if I could find him a bigger room! Nothing can compare, this is amazing!
my honest apprasal
I found this book seemed to accurate in pricable. however i think it would require you to work out your own take on the scripts and stage acts suggested because most of them are pretty lame and would'nt work on 90% of people for that reason. If you have the right personality and you are reltivly bright i think that what you learn in this book might teach you to hypnotise some one. This is only my percived opion from some one whos not a hypnotist. there seem to be alot people reviewing this book saying it not the first book on hypnotism you should buy. i think its fair to say as someone who did by this as there book on hypnoitism that its fine as a first book just expect to buy another if really want to learn the subject.

Ilyanla Live!: Self Value, Self worth & Self Love
I enjoy watching Iyanla on TV, and I have read a couple of her books, this was the first time I purchased one of her tapes and was very disappointed.The sound quality is poor.I found myself turning the volume up and then down, and then at times I couldn't hear anything at all.It started out with singing, which I guess is alright if that is what you had expected, but I didn't see the connection in the overly long singing introduction to the tape subject.She had a few good points that she brought out, and made one think.There were maybe 20 min. of interesting subject matter to listen to: I would not recommend this particular tape.

Disappointed
I am a huge Iyanla fan, but even she has a bad day.This tape was a disappointment, expecially after being fired up with the "Faith" tape.The quality of the sound was not good, her singers were not on their game and the message seemed to come in the last 5 minutes of the tape.You found Iyanla rambling on and on mostly.I will still try the other cassettes but this one, you can pass on.

Interesting introduction to the Dalai Lama's thoughts and beliefs
For anyone seeking a simple, introductory look into the fundamental beliefs and principles of the Dalai Lama, "The Art of Happiness" would be a great place to start. The book, authored by Howard C Cutler, MD, consists of excerpts and commentary from a series of documented conversations held between himself and the Dalai Lama.
one of the best self help book
everytime when I struggle with some emotional problem, this book always helps me to feel better and resolves my problem no matter which page I flip to.How amazing?It is a must-have book!

An interesting debate
A bit of a tough read, but worthwhile all the same! It takes the Dalai Lama's views and mixes them with explanations from an American psychiatrist (East meets West). The result is a useful tool kit for creating more happiness in your life, but beware, it requires some deep thought - and some very active mental changes in your normal patterns of behaviour. Happiness, it seems, requires a great deal of mental discipline! But remember, its the end purpose we are working towards, not the short term pleasure...so put those chocolates away, and read the book!

A good mind opener
I am a father of two boys and I came across this book by searching on Amazon for books that could help me improve my parenting skills. I love my boys and I consider my parenting as a full time job. I read other readers comments and I did some research before I purchased a couple of books, Raising Cain being one of them. My main motivation in buying these books is derived from the frustration that I experience when I know I fail to understand my son on some issues and also from my worry that I do not understand what is going on in a life of a young man in today's world.
excellent insight
I appreciated the insight in this book and have recommended it to everyone I know, and most importantly to the women in my life so they can understand me a little better when I do that male "thing" that confounds them so.As others have done I also read Reviving Ophelia and I would recommend these two books be read in tandem.

Must read for parents/caregivers

Wonderful book!
I highly recommend this book!!I researched many books and techniques and the ones that I learned in this book worked the best for me.It allowed me to have a natural childbirth, without drugs, of a 9lb, 5oz baby!I will admit that the labor was not "pain-free", but it was certainly very manageable.I have experienced much greater pain from back problems.The book is written in an easy to follow manner, with many excellent scripts to read during delivery.I especially liked the section that tests to see if you are a good candidate for hypnosis as well as identifying which techniques will work best for you.Great Great resource!!!

Great and very useful book
I'm so glad that I bought this book. It has helped me tremendously with preparing for labor. I plan on using the techniques taught in this book when I go into labor (in the next few weeks!). They are really easy to learn and work well for me! I recommend this book to anyone who is planning on having a natural labor, and espcially to anyone who is going to have a home birth. Read with a mind open to all things and attached to nothing
It seems to me much of the problem some readers are having with The Seat of the Soul is having the material validated so that it meets their approval. That is an impossibility due to the very nature of the subject. In order to comprehend certain things we must change our current frame of reference. This is explained in the book:

Excellent Program!

excellent afternoon read
I loved Coach Gagliardi's methods. Although, I don't agree with everything he believes in that it can be transferred to the workplace; I do think he has a outlook that more businesses should look at. Simple quick read.

Wow!! That is about summing it up!
Caroline Myss is an incredible revolutionary Mystic, with intellegence, practicality and a sense of humor. I bought this CD because I was suffering from Depression. It really is a Mind blowing CD. She really taps into a deeper, more meaninful part of ourselves. She answers some very interesting questions with incredible wisdom and insight. Why do some people heal, and not others? Is healing possible? Are some people "Hooked" on staying stuck in their disease? Why do some live and some die from their ailments? Why do people get sick in the first place?
Very Helpful Information
I listened to the book on tape of Caroline Myss' Personal Healing. This is the first time I have heard her speak. I was not familiar with her ideas at all before this.

A Refreshing Way of looking at love
The Mastery of Love" is an enjoyable, easy read that you can finish in an afternoon or evening. How true it is that when children are young they express whatever they feel and act on impulse. By the time we are

I read the 4 Agreements and loved it and even took a seminar series on it.Then I stumbled across this book!It is fantastic!It is a roadmap on how to be happy, how to experience heaven right now (love yourself unconditionally.You will be happy any time your love is flowing to others).Simple concepts but I didn't know them.I typically underline when I read non-fiction so I can quickly review the salient points later on... in this case I might as well plan to read the whole book again, as just about every page has enlightening thoughts.Wow, I am still reeling from the power presented by Don Miguel!Read this book!!!Best book I have read in years, maybe decades! And I am an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction.I liked best the allegory about the magical kitchen (if you have unlimited quality and quantity of food yourself (ie. love for yourself), you will not need to bargain with others for theirs.You will be content and able to just love others (unconditional love!)

Mastery of Love
My sophomore year of high school I was very sad--depressed is more likely--and I had been for over a year. I didn't know quite what to do, but I was beginning to turn much of that into anger (i.e. I listened to bands like Reagan Youth, Crass and the Subhumans). I found this book on Amazon as I was browsing, and I decided I wanted to read it. As things turned out, I was talking with a friend of a friend, mentioned it, and she said she had it and would let me borrow it. The odds perplexed me, but a couple days later I was reading it, and Miguel Ruiz changed my entire perspective. I cannot forget the weekend I finished it-- I was in a sort of complete emotional and physical shock. That may have been when my meditation practice began, also. For weeks after I could never decide what music to listen to, so I listened to reggae (the likes of the Wailing Souls, Inner Circle, Bob and Ziggy) and also started reading eastern philosophy. Am I straying? I was just explaining the impact I felt at sixteen. As I am a sophomore now in college, I still keep this book with me, and I am about to read it again.
