A new "toy" for the bedroom
I was curious to read Master's book because I have been hypnotized several times myself - though in a therapeutic setting, not a sexual setting. I haven't yet tried the techniques outlined in Master's book (though I've passed my copy off to my partner and am curious to see where things go) but I can say, speaking from my own experience of being hypnotized many times, that Masters has written an excellent guide to hypnosis for the lay person. His instructions are clear and very detailed and he often explains the reasoning behind his instructions as well so that the reader will be able to confidently adapt the techniques for individual situations. Masters even covers many of the "glitches" I personally experienced as a hypnosis subject and explains ways to avoid or minimize those situations. The eyes have it
Ever since reading the once infamous novel Trilby, in which the evil Dr. Svengali hypnotizes the innocent but untalented Trilby into becoming a brilliant pianist, I've been fascinated by hypnotism. Also, my partner says I make love as if I'm in a hypnotic trance anyway, so I thought I'd see if this book could help. Having been trained in hypnosis at the famous Svengali and Trilby Institute myself, I can only say that this book is a fine contribution to the field, especially for those guys (like me) whose modus amore, as it were, is indistinguishable from a zombi-like stupor. I read this book.It's helped me understand my purpose and that we're not all here for the same reason. Keep an open mind...
Actually, I am in the process of listening to this book on tape and am getting a really good vibe from the actual author as she reads.She definately says "take what you can and leave the rest behind.Unfortunately, conservative Christians come off as "holier than thou" and bascially to me their concepts of the Bible detaches from everyday life.What good is a religion in my opinion if it doesn't teach you how to be a better human being.As far as the Bible goes, there has been edits made by those in position to do so to disempower the people for their own selfish means.Sylvia goes into this in speaking of reincarnation as an example of the corruptness of religious authoritarians.Remember slavery was deem appropriate by so called Christians at one time.However, Christianity isn't the disease, but those who interpret and misuse its teachings are the culprit of evil and that goes for any religious belief. Improved the quality of my life!
I listen to audiobooks daily and these are among the very best in terms of quality, relistening value, help and self growth.The total package is superb.Sit down relax and indulge.
relaxing and soothing
I have used one other Janet Decker CD besides this one. Voice is soothing, no trouble settling down and actually relaxing during this stress filled holiday. Got my skeptical boyfriend to try it and he enjoyed it. We both find Ms. Decker's voice soothing and will definately buy more of her products, especially the one for deep sleep as my BF is an insomniac. I have tried other CD by other people and the ones by Janet Decker are just a better choice...in my humble opinion.

Very good, wonderful voice
Both my wife and I suffer from stress in our everyday lives. In despair I bought this CD from Amazon. Lo and behold, it works wonders! First and foremost, she has a wonderful calming voice. The CD is well structured and not too long. Most of it is hypnotic suggestions to help you relax, and one small exercise in visualisation. Great Cassette.... if only there were a CD version
I love this kit, and have used it from time to time.The author has a pleasant English accent, and if you've ever listened to any guided meditation before, you know that the voice can affect your ability to relax and follow instructions.
Great book, even better audio tape
I, too, often fall asleep listening to the audio tape.I consider it a good thing since I normally have trouble falling asleep.If you do not want to fall asleep while listening to this tape, I reccommend sitting upright in a chair without a head rest; use the tape at a time when you are not tired.Besides helping me sleep better, both the book and the tape helped me handle my stress and self-esteem issues.The book is packed full of affirmation scripts for different ailments (including smoking cessation, skin problems, asthma, and confidence) that you can use to personalize your self-hypnosis routine.I found the one on weight control to be especially useful in helping me achieve my weight loss goals.Only one thing would make this product perfect:if the audio tape was a CD instead.When I fall asleep during the tape, the automatic stop button pops up and rudely rips me from my sleep.

Fell asleep!
I think this is a nicely done kit on self-hypnosis, but--as with so many self-hypnosis tapes, I fell asleep while listening to it. I've made the attempt twice now and just can't seem to stay awake. I'm not blaming the kit, itself, but there's got to be a way to stay awake during self-hypnosis...and I can't be the only one who has encountered this problem. ... Read more

Wonderful
Thank you Thich Nhat Hanh for sharing your knowledge. The Present Moment is filled with wisdom and humour.Through his teachings people are given the tools to enable them to heal their hearts and live more joyful/lighter lives.His voice is smooth and his humour great, thus he will not put you to sleep.Thich Nhat Hanh shares ideas to help anyone who is looking to take on the path to a more enlightened life.Or as Pema Chodron likes to say, the path of a Spiritual Warrior.The Blooming Of a Lotus is a good book filled with meditations by Thich Nhat Hanh. Learning the philosophy is a part of the path.Practicing through meditation is another part of the path.

A Masterpiece By a Master
This collection is by far the best work by one of the greatest authors I have ever read. Do yourself a favor and check this out. The Present Moment goes so far beyond conventional communication that I feel very limited in my attempt to describe what you can expect from it. I envy you who willsoon hear it for the first time.

When I read "Crucial Conversations" I found myself tearing through it in long spurts, driven by an intense interest in the authors' discussion of how we handle those tough circumstances life throws our way. It makes the case that we all need to understand our style for handling the inevitable duress of a difficult conversation, and they complement theories with excellent, actionable strategies that work well in the real world.

This is indeed a highly evolved being speaking to you..Don't listen with your mind...beyond the words there is peace...It's a very simple message, but deeply effective only when you LISTEN.
The best of what Eckhart Tolle has to say
The first time I listened to these tapes, they had a profound effect on me. It seems to me that on listening to E.T. I had a foretaste of the stillness he is speaking about several times. This is the reason why, although I now consider E.T. a third class advaita teacher, I am still willing to recommend this interview to people here on Amazon.com.
Brilliant and confusing in parts
I have read and worked with several of Tolle's tapes and found them to be very useful, from a spiritual/meditative standpoint. I find his insights here too to be similar, gets right to the core of the problem of the mind identified society, the confusions we go through as people in navigating this conditioning towards the 'oneness' and such. I find it hard though, to give in to it completely, by it i don't mean the teachings, i mean to Tolle's mindset as it comes through on this particular tape. Yes you can understand where he is coming from, a certain place that is somewhat removed from conditioned responses and perhaps a genuine empathy for what the world and country went through during 9/11. But is it ok to laugh, kindly as it might seem to be? Is it ok to just remove oneself from the pain and talk about what is causing it, almost like a clinical, prescriptive fashion? From a layman perspective those things come across like spiritual arrogance, more than anything else. There is a saying in the Bhagavad Gita that God knows the reasoning behind all things, and yet cries for/with suffering humanity. Water RX for a Healthier Pain Free Life
Absolutely amazing how much we do not know how just drinking water can help cure us.I have seen both my parents health decline and finding out the importance of keeping the body hydrated. Easy to understand, fun to read, worked for me!
I just love Richard Webster. His books are very easy to understand. Practical Guide to Past Life Memories is my favorite book on the subject. He gives you twelve different methods to connect to a past life. I just picked one method to start and it worked! The very first time! You can very easily find your method because there is a chapter dedicated to each one. This book is fun and very informative but not so much where you could get bored. Get this book!

a true eye opener for personal safety
I think what I took away from reading this book was really a lesson in personal safety. I found myself really paying attention to everything going on around me and walking a little bit taller. This isn't for everyone but I found it a critical read living and working in the city at night. I actually was able to identify a bad scene unfolding in front of me and got my feet moving to avoid it. John Douglas presents the facts in a non-alarmist way while still putting great emphasis on what bad dudes are all about. This is a must read for anyone in law enforcement and anyone who likes to gain power through knowledge.

Good insights into human nature
This was a very interesting book describing the rise of criminal profiling in the F.B.I.John Douglas pioneered the combination of psychology and crimaal catching which has become so popular today, especially since Thomas Harris' Silence of the Lambs, which showed the public how this new science works (in an exaggerated form, of course).This book details how that science developed, what it's benefits are, and why it should be used, but unfortunately Mr. Douglas doesn't really tell us a whole lot about how exactly it works.He looks at case files, examines autopsy reports, then comes up with a profile of the killer.All of the cases he records in this book are cases he got right (one wonders how many he has gotten wrong, since he mentions having done hundreds and hundreds of cases, and he only mentions a few dozen), yet he never really bridges the gap between case file analysis and criminal profiling.Perhaps he doesn't want us to know, so that criminals cannot use that information to their advantage.If so, he should have explained himself, as the books cover and intro are rather misleading.

Can't read Rumi all the time
Though I agree Coleman Barks Southern accent and voice are a out of place for me when reading Rumi myself, his passion for Rumi more than makes up for it. I am in my car a lot, so this set allows me to enjoy the poetry. It's relaxing, the music is perfect.

A great runic text
Freya Aswynn was chosen to write a book that no-one else could.A fresh interpretation of the Elder Futhark as used in magick.A very unique and valuable perspective.
A unique and insightful take on the runes
Some dismiss Freya Aswynn's contribution to the runes because of her outspoken, blunt attitude towards the practice. Some squabble over a few perceived linguistic inaccuracies (which I, admittedly, am not qualified to distinguish as true or false), but what I have found useful in this book is her experience and her passion for the Northern way. She delves deeply into her soul and brings forth an extremely insightful volume, one which I consider a must have for the serious student or practitioner, if only to have another book that has a historically accurate basis with Aswynn's wonderfully individualistic personal imprint.

Best Book on Runes
This book is in its fourth printing for a reason: It is a classic.Not the sort that sits on a shelf to be shown off, but the sort that is studied like a college textbook.

A Lifesaver for Those in Spiritual Crisis
At a time in my life when I was going through a serious spiritual crisis, a real "Dark Night of the Soul," listening to this audiotape of a lecture given by the author proved to be a turning point for me. What does this mean?
Caroline Myss does have some spiritual insights to share, but in this rambling, impromptu talk she often sounds like she is a little tired and fed up, and is chiding us. It's funny, educational, and makes sense.
After reading and listening the book/CD of Contacting Your Spirit Guide, I instantly became Sylvia's fan, and have gotten a copy of this double-CD talk show lecture/transcript, as well as two other books of hers including Past Lives, Future Healings, and Life On The Other Side. I have repeted listening to this double-CD many times, and it's very helpful to me as far as teaching me what I didn't know about the abilities and duties of angels and guides, and how to get help and advice from them on a daily basis.

Managing Conflict using Getting to Yes, what a book!
Few books stand up from the crowd when we talk about conflict and negotiation. This book does and it serves companies a great deal to make it a required reading for professionals. When I recommend this book to trainees in all my training seminars people think I am getting paidcommission from the publisher :) hmmmmmmay be I should. Combine this book with 48 laws of power and turn your engine of influence on. Add NLP on top of it and guarantee winning every reasonable deal.Conflict, Power and Influence is it !

The content of this book is sound; however
First, a testimonial.When I was three-quarters of the way through, I had a whammy of a week.On Monday I negotiated in a job interview, Tuesday I negotiated with my landlady, and Wednesday I negotiated with my manager over new job routines (the cause of my activities on Monday).
