5-0 out of 5 stars Effective and affordable
This is the most relevant approach to controlling herpes that I have found.Anyone can follow her program.Ms Picozzi reviews how to bolster the immune system through diet, stress management, exercise. The overall result is a healthier body and immune system. After a number of years of searching for a resource that is concise, useable and effective, this book is well worth the money.Thank you Michele!

5-0 out of 5 stars Helpful and thorough source for alternative therapies
This book lives up to its title of taking a "holistic approach" as it promotes a dozen or more alternative therapies to prevent and heal outbreaks. 5-0 out of 5 stars Help at last!

Holism and Evolution by Jan Christiaan Smuts, originally published in 1926, is one of the great and authentic visionary classics of the 20th century, and I highly recommend to anyone interested in the subject of holism, evolution, and integral philosophy. This book is not only one of the harbingers of today's holistic and integral movements but also continues to provide us with deep insights and powerful inspirations.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Unique Book
I found the book extremely easy to read and follow. The religious ideas, although presented simply, have been thoroughly researched. Some ideas were repeated more often than necessary. The book presents a radically new concept of God, far removed from the traditional personification found in many religions. However, as the author does not have a background in science he has accepted the standard party line in this field instead of questioning it. The best book I have found that blends in science and religion in a fresh and forceful way is "Anita's Legacy."

5-0 out of 5 stars A brief summary of an amazing process
If you are familiar with Mr. Walsch's other works, you already knowsomething of the remarkable dialogue that he presents which are justtremendously insightful and uplifting. I have to honestly say that hisbooks have made a very tangible and profound difference in my life forwhich I shall always be very grateful.Read more

Therapeutic Touch involves using your hands to heal all living beings by "consciously directing or sensitively modulating human energies."It doesn't require physical contact.Therapeutic Touch is based on several principles, two of which are "illness is an imbalance in an individual's energy field" and "human beings have natural abilities to transform and transcend their conditions of living."Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The best depression help book ever! And for $6 used!?!?! BYE BYE WELLBUTRIN!!!!!
Wow! OK, let me get this straight.I have been majorly depressed for the past 9 years, and I'm 29.So, you see...the best part of my life was gone.I tried almost everything there was to try, and of couse nothing really worked. Some may have worked for a little bit and the depression came back even stronger soon after. I read books and messageboards to keep up to date about ways people have tried and worked for them.Nope, nothing did anything worth mentioning. And the meds (Paxil and Wellbutrin) actually made me not care about anything. True I felt less depressed, but I was like a zombie who couldn't feel anything or express emotions and feelings. My short term memory and cognitive skills were reduced to nothing while on these meds, so that actually made me more depressed.
4-0 out of 5 stars Lots of helpful dietary information
This book makes a good reference for the different uses of amino acids that can help depression. It also details the different types of depression so you can find your symptoms and individualize your treatment. The dietary information is sound.A well written how-to that will help a lot of people.

5-0 out of 5 stars it worked for me!
If I had my own TV show, this is the guy I would invite on to be my alt med guru.

5-0 out of 5 stars What Healing is All About
Facets of a Diamond is an incredible book that looks honestly, intelligently and profoundly at the roles ofhealer and patient, and more importantly, at the underlying motivation of man.
5-0 out of 5 stars An inspiring collection
In the past, Dr. Diamond has on the whole confined himself to one major area of interest in each of his books. In the Life Energy in Music series he focuses on various aspects of music, The Healer: Heart and Hearth is concerned mainly with the role of the therapist or healer, Re-Mothering and its Experience examines the importance of our relationships with our mothers, and so on.In Facets of a Diamond, however, Dr. Diamond draws together all the aspects of his life and the experiences that make him the therapist that he is.But, more than being just an auto-biography, this book introduces us to the possibility that we are all therapists, whatever our profession or station in life. After reading this book I felt inspired to consider how my choices and decisions are determining the pattern of my own life, and how I can best develop and manifest my own philosophy day by day.5-0 out of 5 stars Multifaceted indeed.
Dr. Diamond has written a book which covers a wide range of the areas to which he has turned his attention over many years. His work is indeed multifaceted and beneficial to both specialist readers from a range of disciplines as well as the general reader looking for further insight into his/her life. One of the most intriguing aspects of Dr. Diamond's writing is his focus on how insights and information are presented. His intention is to make the writing itself therapeutic and this intention, and its effect on the individual, is obvious and immediate as one dips into this book.Dr. Diamond writes with intensity and enthusaism as well as humour and compassion. This is truly a book which approaches healing and health holistically and with real concern for the sufferings, physical or psychological, more or less obvious, of others. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars PERFECT!
What a SUPERB release. This is my medicinal herbal bible; it's quite complete, very nice graphics, and is easy to understand. It sits right next to my magickal herb books and has been an invaluable reference. HIGHLY recommended.
5-0 out of 5 stars One of the Best
I own a later 2002 version of the 1996 book. Except for cover design the content has remained very much the same. That is one of the best available books on herbs and herbology. It shows the herb with a color photograph for those unfamiliar with what each herb looks like. It gives a detailed description of the herb amd exact formulas of how to use it singularly or in combination. There are other features like how to cultivate and dry the herbs and how it relates to a body system. One of the Best herb books available

4-0 out of 5 stars Well organized information, great pictures
The pictures and profiles on the herbs are a pleasure to read and look at. I would have given the book 5 stars, but there is a dearth of safety information for some herbs (e.g. comfrey, coltsfoot, lily of the valley, sassafras)which I feel is a serious omission. Someone just starting to learn about herbs may start consuming them on a regular basis before coming across the safety information elsewhere. Also, in the section on body systems, the recommended herbal recipes are accompanied by symbols which are not explained anywhere in the text (or if they are, the explanation is very well hidden because I can't find it!) Other than that, the book contains a great introduction to how the body's various systems work and also a lot of common sense advice on optimizing health (not just illness prevention). The philosophy of herbal treatment (treating the whole person as opposed to treating a symptom or a disease) is nicely discussed. Also the therapeutic index makes it easy to find herbs that you can try for specific health needs. A nice addition to the herbal library as long as you have other books that offer the safety info that this one lacks! ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Good Natural Meds Advice-Written by the Unexperienced
I bought this book the day before writing this. I was very disappointed because it's written from the perspective of two people, one a teacher of ADHD kids and the other an herbalist who are not parents or have ADHD themselves-so how would they know? They don't. As a ADHD person with a ADHD kid whose father has it too, I have enough blame placed upon me without reading a book that says my child needs more hugs, that we need to cut off the t.v.-she's too hyper to watch it, and that both parents and teachers have failed ADHD kids. It's a case of people thinking they know what is wrong with ADHD kids without truly knowing. My daughter has a double dose and has always been a handful since she was one. They are saying that parents shouldn't take the words of the teachers and parents shouldn't want their kids labeled. Most parents are like me, have been dragging their kids to the peditrician since they were very young begging for someone to listen. I didn't need a teacher to confirm what I knew along time ago. I am though trying the natural approach to ADHD and it works 70 to 80% of the time. I am still working on the right combination though. From the point of view of an herbal approach to ADHD, I appreciate it for giving even more choices than I had, but from the point of view of understanding ADHD, they have not a clue! ... Read more

Editorial Review

The most remarkable facts about the "fitness boom" are that most people still don't exercise, and among those who do, few get the results they envisioned. For every couch yam who turns his health around and successfully runs a marathon, there must be hundreds or thousands who can't maintain even the least-ambitious fitness program and end up worse off than they were before: heavier, less healthy, and more despondent over their failure to improve the way they look and feel.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This book saved my body of being fat forever
This book has solved years of frustration becuase I have been working out for years and years and for that amount of time have done nothing. Were still fat and unfit. The people who trained me were worried for the nutrition and the trainings. Have tried dozens of diets and routines for years, and nothing happened. Those were not the problems, but no one could see which one were; even by myself. This book is not about training secrets, or nutrition tips. Is about knowing yourself and identify those little things that can ruin all you are working for. I you are going nowhere, not because you cannot add more muscle, but because you cannot begin to add muscle, or when you begin to progress suddenly something happens that makes you lose it all; then, this reading is a must. There are a lot of other books out there to help you build excellent routines and nutrition programs, but this is the only one to help you with problems you cannot imagine existed. If you pay fot the gym, supplements, trainers, food and muscle mags. Why not spend some bucks to make sure everything is perfect in your trainings, nutrition and yourself? The worse thing can happen is to realize that nothing on the book were intended for you, and that are going to be good news. After a year, I am thin and muscular for the first time of my life. And all I needed were in one page of the book. Are you willing to take the risk of not reading it?

5-0 out of 5 stars Wow! Why didn't someone write this before!!!!
Wow! Finally, someone has written about the dirty little secret of dieting and fitness programs. Some people (whisper it) eat right, work out and yet....don't lose weight. 5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Book With Cutting Edge Ideas!
I found this book to be a plethoric resource. If a corporation commissioned a team to compile all of the information found in this book, it would have to consist of at least a dozen experts working round the clock for years.Yet it's all presented in a very non-intimidating way. Ifound the author's style to be inclusive, considerate, and encouraging. While it's clear that he's open to many schools of thought, the guidance he provides is objective and firmly rooted in common sense. And instead ofimplying that there's only one right way to achieve success, he suggests many different tactics to help readers accomplish their goals.Howrefreshing! For anyone who lacks the motivation to diet or exercise, orwho does exercise regularly, but is dissatisfied with their progress, thisbook is a must read!" ... A number of books have focused on health care for African-Americans. Most of them give advice on what should be done, how it is to be done and what to avoid. 4-0 out of 5 stars Everything helps, and it all matters!
To think that getting medical intervention is the only way, when there are things we can do to improve chances is limited thinking.
2-0 out of 5 stars So-So
Some tips for increasing fertility - avoiding tobacco, alcohol, caffeine and stress...hmmm. Well, I'm still waiting for someone i.e., a medical professional, to write a book about why some women who DO smoke cigarettes regularly, drink coffee and consume alcohol on a fairly frequent basis have no problem whatsoever conceiving. I'm more interested in having that mystery solved. Fertility aside, I already know that tobacco, alcohol, caffeine and stress are not good for you.

5-0 out of 5 stars I owe my pregnancy to this book!
I never write book reviews, but I owe the birth of my daughter to the advice given by this book! After 6 years of no contraception, my husband and I finally decided that we were going to REALLY TRY to have a child, so I bought this book, as a starting point to figure out what we--both over 35-- needed to do to get pregnant. In our case, the changes in lifestyle recommended in the book were all we needed; I got pregnant 3 months after putting its advice into practice. This is the perfect book to start with if you want to create a lifestyle that gives you the best chance for getting pregnant, without starting with the infertility drugs. Note that the medical options are also discussed in the book, as well as how much time is reasonable for trying to get pregnant "naturally." Good Luck! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful book! Changed my life...
I would like to thank Gary Null for getting this book out to the public. It's helped me get back my health. I'm 54 and could hardly walk a 100 feet before starting these exercises. I'm walking 3 miles daily now and have lost 70 pounds and I owe it to Gary's advice from this book. The book breaks down each exercise routine into east to follow steps and gives plenty of great info about diet. I would also like to point out a rather suspicious review from Publishers Weekly. This review slams this book and I really don't know why. The complaint seems to be too much information for advanced runners. Well if you're an advanced runner any book for beginners to advanced will have info in it that's covering what you already know. I believe this is just another establishment crony looking to take a shot at a leader in the alternative medicine and holistic health field. Thanks again Gary

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy to read, and written by a master! BUY ME!:o)
I've had the fortune to study under Master Holland. I'd simply like to assure everyone out there that this is a man who knows what he's talking about! Insightful, well-spoken, and brilliant, you'll definitely want to pick up all of his books! Pick up this little wonder if you're someone worried about your first acupuncture experience, or are a practicioner wanting to offer a bit reassurance to your clients. Worth the buy!!
5-0 out of 5 stars A FANTASTIC GUIDE TO TCM
This book pulled me in the moment I opened it. It is incredibly easy to read and is a very good introductory guide to Traditional Chinese Medicine. I would recommend it to anyone who is curious about TCM but does not want to read large books on the topic. This book is written without lots jargon or unnecessary details. It is easy to follow and understand.5-0 out of 5 stars An abundance of information for such a slim book
This book is a little gem.It sets out the basis of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the theoretical framework and types of treatment (acupuncture, acupressure, moxibustion, cupping, herbal medicine and Qi gong) in an amazingly easy to understand way. It also includes additional information on the history of TCM, accreditation in the US, and safety aspects. If you want to get to grips with what TCM is all about, but don't want to be bogged down with a tome, this is the book for you. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars a necessity
Everyone should have their charts done (and make sure you know the "real" time you were born, which is based on the longitude.Ex., 10:00 A.M. eastern standard time is about 9:40 A.M. at 80 degrees longitude). It is too important to not do it.David's palmistry book is good to pick up, and face reading books are a must. The four pillars is the absolute must, though.Buy a copy of the I Ching, and get your chart done, in that order, to start.Life begins with the study of the I Ching and your chart.Read more
