5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book
This is another excellent book by Dr. Murray.I highly recommend any of Dr. Michael Murray's books--he is an acclaimed naturopath who provides excellent insight into the workings of the human body. This book itself is very straightforward, well organized and contains loads of information. Well done!

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best I've ever read!
What can I say? Dr. Michael Murray is still one of the very best and most instructive of all Naturopaths I've ever seen live at health conventions. His books are pure gems of how to self-diagnose and heal yourself of all kinds of difficult health problems, including Phase I and Phase II detoxification problems in the liver...explained in great detail, actually.I loved Total Body Tune-Up because I already do a bit of health counseling and a LOT of study of natural health and healing.Dr. Murray filled in some blanks for me regarding some of the mystery health problems.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best books on healing
This book is chock full of great information. No messing around - the author gets right to the point and teaches the reader soooooo much! The information really resonated with me.Because the author didn't add a lot of useless fluff, it was an easy intelligent read. Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Now It All Makes Sense
Christel Nani shares her knowledge and innate abilities in a very helpful, concise, easy-to-understand book. She truly pulls together information from many sources into one, sensible cohesive whole. She explains how intuition and love and energy and God and faith and science really are all part of the same whole.I highly recommend this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Hard to Put Down
I am a psychologist with a tremendous interest in energy medicine and intuitive phenomena. I have read countless books in those areas and I regard Christel Nani's book as a standout. It reads simply, and yet it revealed insights I either had never seen before or which were written in a way that made those insights jump out at me. I also appreciate the author's tone. It was very much in sync with the book's content. In other words, she came across as genuine and sincere not only because of what she said but because of the way she said it. Based on the quality of this book I chose to order her CD and her other book. I have read many of Carolyn Myss's books which carry a similar theme. While the authors speak the same language, I believe devoted readers of Myss will gain something from Christel Nani's book. I'm glad I found it. I hope Christel will offer workshops on the east coast. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars The Everything Reiki Book...
This book is a pretty good introduction, but it seems more geared for someone who wishes to become a practioner. From the review I read, I thought it would be ok for a general overview of Reiki. Not terrific for the purposes I was looking for.

3-0 out of 5 stars in the details
when someone who is supposedly a master of something can get wrong things like the time Reiki (as opposed to other forms of energy healing) has been around, or fails to understand the inherent differences between the healing practice of Reiki and the universal life force (ch'i) that it directs, then you maybe have to wonder how really well she understands her subject.

5-0 out of 5 stars We've added Everything Reiki to our list atReiki Energy Healing Center
I highly recommend this book for beginners and masters alike.Wonderful, easy to understand information. It covers a little bit of everything. It is also unbias, which is refreshing. It has a wonderful glossary of terms.

5-0 out of 5 stars Important & Path-breaking work
Kramer's work of mapping the body by flower types is the most important work since Bach's original book. Infact, you could say that Kramer's work continues Bach's work.
5-0 out of 5 stars A valuable development
I had been self treating with a few flowers for a couple ofmonths, taking them orally, as I was undertaking a challenging activity that has repeatedly frustrated me in the past.I am quite confident I saw clearly the remedies needed at the time.I was not really experiencing much support from the remedies; the distress persisted. My wife helped me with 2 compress treatments one day, and I experienced a profound shift in myself with regard to the issues involved.I felt a greater inner peace than I had in months.I continue to reinforce the influence with a once-daily topical application of the remedies in a hand lotion. This has served me very well in the midst of the challenging situation where I have placed myself.I don't think this result would have been possible without Kramer's knowledge.5-0 out of 5 stars New Bach Flower Body Maps
Healers have long known about the effectiveness of the Bach Flower Remedies, which are usually ingested.Dietmar Kramer, a licensed naturopath, has experimented successfully with applying the remedies directly on the skin. The remedies don't work if simply applied indiscriminately.Kramer and his associates have developed detailed body maps indicating where to apply which remedies for best results.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars how to treat a stye?
I got this book and the one for our kids, my husband woke up with a stye in his eye a couple of days after receiving this book. He wanted to run to the Dr., I asked him to wait and followed the instructions the book provided, i like how it gave us many different ways to treat it. I used the homeopathic way and in a day and a half it was gone, it went from this horrible red, bloodshot eye to normal!!Amamzing, my mainstrean husband was very impressed. I really enjoy this book it gives me the power to heal our aliments in a healthy way and I save on the co-pays at the dr. office:)

5-0 out of 5 stars Must have for home medical library
As a mother of 8 children, I have found this book to be an invaluable asset. This is the first book that I consult for information on symptoms and treatment options. With everything listed in alphabetical order, it's simple to find what you're looking for.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is my family medical reference book
Of all the medical books that I have read over the years, this is by far the best book I have seen. It explains the treatment options for all sides, Conventional Medicine, Dietary, Vitamins and Minerals recommendations, Herbal Treatment, Homeopathy, Accupressure, and Prevention. It is a pretty large, thick book with average sized text and little wasted space. It has a great deal of information and they do an excellent job of presenting the information. Most other books seriously fail in one of several areas: Accuracy and depth of information, ability to present the information in an easily understandable form, and ability to present the information in an applicable form. Many other books fail to mention herbs or vitamins that I know to have benefit for a particular ailment, while mentioning other herbs or vitamins that in my experience have little or no effect on an ailment. This book is the most accurate book I have yet to see, based on my own experience with herbs and vitamins, and online research. This book has an excelent organization, it presents the information as 'treatments' for each ailment or disease. The book breaks down each of the treatment options in their own subsections underneath each ailment or disease. By ailment or disease I mean it covers not only allergies, heartburn, insomnia, and stress, but it also lists Diabetes, Cirrhosis, HIV, Meningitis, Osteoporosis, Fibromyalgia, Hepatitis, and Rosacea among many other diseases. For each and every ailment or disease, it typically has a half-page general overview of each disease (what the disease is, how it works), and then it has the treatment sections (Conventional Medicine, Dietary/Vitamins, Herbal Treatment, and Homeopathy and Accupressure, etc). The information presented in each of the sections is very understandable (you do not need a PHD to understand it). I have been using herbs for different ailments for years, and I based my usage of particular herbs on information that I found scattered among many different books or references. I found the herbal treatment information in this book to be very complete. In my experience, most books tend to mention a few of the 'best' herbs for a particular ailment and ignore the rest. This book lists very nearly ALL the applicable herbs and vitamins for any particular ailment, and for each herb it usually gives a quick explanation of WHY and HOW the herb works to help that particular ailment. You may find that a particular herb helps you for a particular ailment, whereas others may not. I believe it's important to list all of the herbal remedies that have been known to help a particular ailment, so that you can try for yourself to find what works. Each herb has its own paragraph and dosage recommendation under each treatment. If garlic is listed under one ailment, it is still listed under other ailments, but they do not 'copy and paste' the paragraphs - each time care is taken to explain what mechanism the herb has for helping that particular ailment/disease. This book is not an 'herb' reference like most other books, it can be used as such because the detail is so great, but the herbal information is presented under each and every ailment - so it's organization is more like a treatment reference for ailments. This book is an excellent reference for general ailments like allergies, headaches, and other problems but I urge anyone with specific medical health problems to read this book and try some of the herbal remedies. The book also discusses Dietary and Vitamin and Minerals recommendations for each ailment/disease. This book is comprehensive and the treatment recommendations are presented in an unbiased fashion. There is also a version of this book specifically for children's ailments/diseases. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Because we're all one and life goes on within you & without you
I must, at the outset, declare an interest in my review. I am a diabetes sufferer currently being treated with a regimen of drugs living in a country where the foods one buys from any supermarket are diametrically opposed to the maintenance of good health.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book
This book lead me in the right direction towards enlightenment. It is ideal for the black aspirant of complete health (wholistic), while good for people of all races. It covers a wide variety of material concerning holistic health, human existance, psychology, behaviour, and also differnces between races. One might read this book and think that L.Afrika is racist, but the concept of racism is an illusion of the mind imposed unto us by our own ignorance of Self, and backed by a corrupt system of injustice.
1-0 out of 5 stars Recipe almost KILLED me
I borrowed this book from a friend. Read it thoroughly. Some of the information is valid (vitamins to take, foods to eat or avoid). Other opinions are old world wive's tales i,e., menstruation is not natural. OK, I can ignore the stupid stuff (although there shouldn't be stupid stuff in a book for Black people who already suffer as medical guinea pigs). What I found and EXPERIENCED as very dangerous is one recipe in particular - on page 72 (of the revised and expanded 7th edition) under the heading "Anthelmentic Enemas (gets rid of worms)." It calls for 1-2 CUPS of salt mixed with lemon or lime juice (no amt given), with warm water (no amt given). I used 1 cup of salt with a 1/4 cup of lemon juice in a hot water bottle of warm water. I administered the enema and within 15 minutes my body went into shock. Severe pain in legs and feet, lower back and stomach with vomiting and bleeding from the rectum. I drove myself to the emergency room. I was immediately admitted. A colonoscoopy revealed that the salt and lemon juice mixture had caused perforations in my colon! Had the perforations penetrated the outer wall of my colon I could have died from peritonitis (they told me). Here I am in the hospital 3 days later and the bleeding is still an issue. I am on a bland diet awaiting a follow-up colonoscopy (in 30 days) to see if the damage has healed or left scarring. My "new" gasteroenterologist said, "Throw that @#%*@*! book away!"I will give it back to the party who loaned it to me with red X's across the enema recipes whether they like it or not. This book has BAD INFORMATION. And in my opinion, if you only crash your car once a month, you still aren't considered a good driver on the other 29 days!
5-0 out of 5 stars ancient future
Depending on who you are and what you know, the information contained in this book is either real ancient or real futuristic. For example, did you know that bowling, cards, see-saws were not really games at all,... that they are really devices for developing spiritual and improving physical health? Did you know that depending on the day of the week and the colors you wear, your health can be helped. And that different types of scented oils can bring peace and tranquility to a household depending on the day of the week.

5-0 out of 5 stars a must-read for cancer patients and loved ones
When I was a happy and healthy 39 years old, I abruptly became the first cancer patient I'd known, with a stage III colorectal cancer. Once diagnosed, I put together the best medical team I could. Then I found myself with many equally crucial needs for help as I entered the strange and uniquely personal terrain of my cancer experiences. How will I get through this? What does this cancer mean for my life? Journey Through Cancer provided excellent questions, stories, and tools that helped strengthen and enrich my ability to navigate through cancer. I found Journey Through Cancer at the library, and it was the sole book I found that understood that cancer patients need more than prescriptions for treatment, diet and attitude. Journey Through Cancer coaches readers through a process of discovering their own best responses to the unique impacts of cancer on our lives. For cancer patients and their loved ones, this is a must-read book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive, compelling reading
My father is recovering from his second brain surgery in two months, and will soon begin adjuvant radiation and/or chemotherapy. I've been looking for information for him on what he can do to help the healing process from the inside. I recently checked this book out from my local library along with five others. I returned the other four, and haven't put this one down.5-0 out of 5 stars A masterpiece
Dr. Geffen's book, A Journey through Cancer, was a revelation to me, because it showed me how MY participation in the healing process was vital to the outcome of the cancerous condition that had arisen in my body.Good as the doctors and nurses were, I soon discovered that they were most willing to treat my symptoms, that is the outer reality, but there was no inclination whatsoever to address the inner reality, that is the spiritual and emotional aspects of the patient. In most oncology centers, as far as I can see, the holistic approach is practically unknown, to all intents and purposes.Read more
