5-0 out of 5 stars An excellent comprehensive approach
Dr. Warshowsky has written a book that's informative and accessible. It combines the best of Western medicine and holistic/complementary resources, which is wonderful because there is so much misinformation abounding about "alternative" medicine. Knowing that Dr. Warshowsky is a board-certified ob/gyn who's affiliated with a prestigious medical institution lends credibility and authority to his holistic approaches. I recommend this book to any woman with fibroids. Additionally, any woman who wants a picture of holistic medicine at its best should read this book, even if she does not have fibroids.
5-0 out of 5 stars Excelent
Excelent book. I was looking for a book about fibroids after 6 doctors recommend surgery (Hysterectomy), and I was glad I found this book. It explain more about our bodys and what increases our chances with fibroids than any other reference material I came across so far. I was almost given up, but I decide to keep fight and changed some important things (like food and relaxation). I have an herb garden now. A must have for anyone who have to face the problem of fibroids.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this book
I was resigned to what my doctor told me was the only alternative-surgery. This book gave me hope and totally changed the coarse of my life. I learned not only about my fibroid condition, but about nutrition and a healthy lifestyle generally. It brought me to yoga, which I'm now absolutely hooked on. It turned my fibroid misery into a kind a blessing in disguise. I wish I had read this book years ago, but, better late than never. One year after deciding not to have surgery because of reading this book, the fibroid is still there, but I'm starting to reread Warshowsky's book to get reinspired for the year ahead, and rededicate myself to the ideas inside. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Can you tell I really like this book!
"Sinus Survival: A Self-help Guide" by Robert Ivker (isbn: 1585420581) This `survival' book is amazing. (In contrast to "The Sinus Cure" by Debra Fulghum Bruce, which in my opinion, okay, I'll say it: "sucks").I've owned both books for five+ years now.In short, the `survival' book gives me plenty of `knowledge meat' to work with, while the `cure' book didn't tell me anything that I didn't already know. The `survival' book, on the other hand, I refer to every year, and learn (or relearn) more than I did before.Dr Ivker, is a sinusitis sufferer himself, went the extra hoops beyond MD to become DO and has many self-help options in here. He includes a thorough exploration of what EMT-physicians consider, and/or exams to possibly do, or surgeries, etc and why.True to his word, I've followed his steps and have become someone who regularly had two or more sinus infections every year, to someone who has been infection-free for five and counting. And for those earlier unfortunate times while suffering from one, I still gained immediate relief (beyond the antibiotics) from some specific steps he recommends. Can you tell I really like this book! Lol's

4-0 out of 5 stars A Roadmap to Relief
I had suffered for years with sinus problems - taking antibiotics, losing time from work, feeling depressed and hopeless.
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent & comprehensive.
After reading everything on this and related subjects, 50+ books, I discovered this one, and as a sufferer of sinus infection and allergies, 2 sinus operations, 10 years of allergy shots, more anti-biotics than anyone would believe, I conclude that this book is correct on sinus infection & surgery, allergies, medication and prevention. After my second sinus operation, I told the surgeon about this book, who now recommends it to her patients. The nasal irrigation described in this book is usually more effective than any prescription, with no side effects. Just do it all the time, not just AFTER you become ill.Read more

If you are willing to base your (or your patients) healthcare decisions on vague analogies and such sources as 'The esoteric literature...' then this book may be for you.I found it kind of boring, and the author's attitude to hard science pretty high-handed, considering his background.I entirely agree with a previous reviewer's analysis ('Fundamentally disappointing'). ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A Comprehensive Guide to Natural Remedies for Women
After years of experiencing excruciating periods, I was diagnosed with endometriosis.I have been searching for months to find natural alternatives to hormone therapy and another laparascopy.I found it in this book.It contains more information on endometriosis than any other resource I have looked through. It also provides thorough dietary suggestions and nutritional supplements. It offers an alternative to the more extreme therapies.5-0 out of 5 stars The best book available on natural medicine for women
This is an exceptionally well-researched and well-written book covering the most common medical problems for women, how to prevent them and how to treat them the natural way.I am particularly impressed with the author'sbroad knowledge of biochemistry, medical conditions and her reliance onhard data from published studies. If you're tired of the side-effects ofchemical drugs you'll find plenty of sound advice and alternative therapiesbacked up by scrupulous research. This is a great stand-alone volume on thesubject but it also complements other books on women's medical conditionswritten from traditional medical viewpoints. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Good book
There are a ton of thyroid books out there and many of them reputable.I'm glad I found this one co-written by doctor/nurse husband and wife team. They seem to understand the subtle interplay among the hormones--not just the thyroid--and this is what makes their approach different, and possibly, life-transforming if you've been suffering from hormonal imbalance.
5-0 out of 5 stars Bringing balance back into my own life
I had been feeling "fuzzy" in my thinking for months.I assumed it was my hectic lifestyle or my daily caffiene habit that was causing this.No amount of sleep made me feel better. In the afternoons, I was fatigued. Weight had started to creep up on me, even though I live an active lifestyle. My periods were difficult and I found myself feeling as if my body was betraying me.What could be wrong?
5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!
This is an excellant book for those of us who know or feel we have an imbalance. Its helps you identify the root cause of your imbalance and covers all the latest supplements and natural hormones to put you on the straight and narrow.I thought my problems were due to reproductive hormones and whilst there were imbalances my real problem symptoms were being caused by the adrenals.

5-0 out of 5 stars Complete Holistic Care.... Brennan/Eckroate: a review
This comprehensive volume addresses dozens of concerns for the horse owner, covering traditional and alternative health practices. The book is very complete in covering the health care options in two sections. The first part dealing with health care is an overview of traditional and holistic options. The final section of the volume is a comprehensive listing (with photos) of typical horse ailments with specific recommendations for each one. The entire book is written in a style easily understandable by the novice, but not too simplistic for the experienced horse owner. Photos and very complete appendices round out the coverage for this topic. Additionally, Brennan includes a comprehensive horse management section which is equally impressive in its scope, covering topics such as diet, grooming, tack and trailering. This book is truly a "must have" for the concerned horse owner. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The One Thing That Will Never Leave Us...
Our breath is the only thing that is with us from beginning to end...the breath is who and what we are...the breath is interconnected with Spirit and every time we breathe in and every time we breathe out, we are breathing in and out the One Creative Power that creates all of life out of Itself...
5-0 out of 5 stars breathing specifically for you
Lewis demonstrates how to find breathing practices most suitable to you rather than assuming there is one best way to breathe for everyone. Choose from seven different self-directed ways of working with breath. Want to reduce the stress load in your life? Breathing properly is one of the best places to start.

5-0 out of 5 stars everything it promised
I found this book helpful for stress relief, more conscious breathing and better sleep. It's well organized and easy to absorb. Aside from the practical applications it lays out, the book also offers good insights on why we don't breathe properly and the negative effect poor breathing can have on the body and on overall health. I highly recommend it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Essential info for all Eye Doctors
I practice Nutritional Optometry (educate my patients on any and all supplements that are beneficial for their particular disease, or family history of disease). This book gives the reader an exceptional overview on the do's and dont's of nutrition as pertaining to the eye.1-0 out of 5 stars A misleading title providing false hope
I suffer from Macular Degeneration and bought the book, hoping to find, as the title suggests, a way to reverse the disease. There was no proven cure in the book. Plus, the book has only one chapter on MD, not the whole bookas might be construed from the title. Millions of Americans suffer from MDfor which there is no definite cure. The title is a good sales booster.People like me who have been told by numerous physicians that there is nocure, will buy the book. If you are a patient of MD, eat a lot of bilberry, antioxidants and lutein( found in leafy greens like spinach) and most ofall, pray. God made us and He only can cure; we can only try, it is He thatcan make it happen.

1-0 out of 5 stars snake oil for a vulnerable community

Overall, this is a good book. The methods described in the book really works. I gave the book 4 stars because half of the book is a waste of paper. 5-0 out of 5 stars THE book on depression
If you're looking to treat depression without using drugs, this is the book to get.The book is packed with almost every type of therapy known to cure depression. If there's any academic research on the subject, Baumel mentions the study and also tells us whether it's an uncontrolled or controlled study (something I appreciate as an academic). He usually explains how the study was conducted in enough detail that it can be replicated at home. This means that he included supplement dosages and length of time needed to see results. He also mentions how to purchase St. John's Wort and light therapy devices, which could save hundreds of dollars.
4-0 out of 5 stars Fixes a lot of myths, a must have for Dr's and smart people
This is defintely an overall positive book on a very negative topic. The author here explains a lot of different ways that you can get the serotinin back to normal without having to deal with drug therapy.
5-0 out of 5 stars BEST OF THE CHOICES
As a psychologist wanting my clients to be educated on the biochemistry of depression and possible solutions, I have found this to be the best of all the alternatives I have read.It discusses all the treatments rather than focusing on one alone, as many books do.It is well written, easy to understand, and treats the reader as if he or she is intelligent enough to grasp a good deal of information.I think this book would help everyone in therapy, and would also help therapists in their attempts to help. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Great view of connective tissue as a physical structure
Before I read this book I had never really considered the functioning of connective tissue as a "web-like" structure within which bone and muscle articulate. The authors contend, starting with embrionic anatomy and onward, that the c.t. forms a bed within which cells differentiate. From this view point of c.t. being a primary base for physical form, we areshown how all parts of the web are connected, and create "bands"that ideally are nether too tight or too loose.I didn't know much aboutRolfing either, but apparently this bodywork deals specificly with c.t. This book has changed my life. I bought the book b/c I heard about how Gregory Joujon-Roche helped celebrities get into the best shape of their lives. I thought I would give it a try and I could not put the book down. Not only does he give you step by step exercises and an eating plan he also gives you reasons WHY you should exercise and eat a certain way. In addition the exercises are different everyday so I don't get bored of doing a monotonous workout. Pick up this book, it will change your life.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Diet I have ever done!
I have been trying to diet and work out for many years now.My problem was, i didn't know how to diet and all I knew was running.Eventually, I just got bored.
3-0 out of 5 stars Great martial arts moves.
Upon looking at the book, I was struck by the fitness I.Q section. This is a great tool for many beginner exercisers. It gives you an idea of who you are, and at the same time there is the self affirmation aspect.I feel that there is something powerful about knowing yourself-it is the beginning of greatness.

1-0 out of 5 stars Save your cash ...
Its like so often in "real" life - some dude has an insight and doesn't get it that he does not need to bent science and common sense in order to construct a new world-view (or, in this case almost a religion with the inventor as the savior) around it. I have used "tachyon" products - they work for selected issues (mostly muscle and tendon problems). Truth is, nobody knows on what principle this stuff works - but rather than being honest and admitting it a hair-raising new world-view is invented with quotes from "real" science to support it not only out of context but also WRONG. The latest I have heard is that Mr. Wagner, the top honcho, has now become a professor in his self-made university (no joke, check his webiste!). I was personaly witnessof Wagner's dishonesty on more than one occasion and can only suggest to stay away from him. This book contains no valuable information whatsoever.

1-0 out of 5 stars If you're avoiding the essentials, you'll try anything.
Drink only pure, unfluorided water, eat only whole fresh raw fruits and vegetables, exercise every day, get some morning or late afternoon sun everyday, and get enough sleep and rest. If this doesn't help, -then- start looking for the wierdo cures if you must, but nothing will undo the problems of the Modern Western Lifestyle exceptno longer living the MWL. I think Gabe must have been fasting a little too long when he wrote this book. Fantasy. To those who testify here on behalf of Tachyon products: I've happened upon a few 'Tachyonized' items, and gave them a try...nothing happened. Your results are the exception, not the rule.

1-0 out of 5 stars High-Tech Pet Rock
I think a tachyon exists, and I am excited about the idea, but there is no evidence of a patent on Tachyonization Process, and no evicende that the aura pictures are even real.If the technology worked, there would be a patent for it, the FDA would make them do trials, and it would take a year to get it onto shelves and into hospitals. Here's a pet rock that's an antenna for Tachyonized energy--someone's got to do the proof. I do not recommend Tachyonized products--especially the 15 drops of Tachyonized Water (from sugar). ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Everything that it promised.
I bought my mom & myself a copy of this book and both of us keep it handy for ready reference.I've bought a lot of health books and this is the best that I've ever read.I'm very glad to have it, have told many friends about the book and the website, and expect to read and reread both the website and the book many, many times.

5-0 out of 5 stars Health Care Instead Of Disease Care
Doctor Yourself is titled and based on a simple premise: every person is responsible for their own health care. When a person abdicates that responsibility, they often place themselves in the hands of the "disease care" industry, a monolithic and profit-driven enterprise where getting well isn't the bottom line.
5-0 out of 5 stars Dr. Saul is a genius! Just reading his book is therapeutic!

1-0 out of 5 stars Adull and boring intellectual approach to spirituality and live foodism.
This has to be one of the most frustrating and dull spirituality and live food books I have ever read. There are pages and pages of 'the author' (he refers to himself in the third person) procrastinating on religion, history etc. Yup he's right, a live food diet will raise your kundalini. So does walking in the counrty, having a great love life, being positive and doing work you love. Which is basically what he is saying here. There, I've managed to say it in two sentances. If you're into personal growth, and spiritual development, try David Wolfe's books. Even though he plagurised Nature's First Law, the original is out of print, but it's a raw food philosophy masterpiece all the same. It's also the third of the length of Cousen's book. Or read Leonard Orr's Breaking The Death Habit, or the Indian classic 'Autobiography of a Yogi.' These three books will open your mind and soul to new and real possibilitesin an authentic heartfelt way, without the ego of the author getting in the way.
3-0 out of 5 stars Some good info, but not much of a fan of the author
Although I've only just begun to read this book, this seems to be some good information in it. But don't get too caught up in the book. I don't like the way that the author glorifies himself. He's alway's saying, "Oh I'm so great I've trascended that I don't even refer to myself at I, I'm one now!"
5-0 out of 5 stars The guide for what to do to assist your physical body energy workers!
This is the guide on what to do to heal, retrain, then entrain and empower your physical body.. by eating better, more delicious and rewarding foods and making decisions that further increase your spiritual clout with yourself each and every day.
