Chelation and other therapies
Maybe if C.M. Abratte read the book: Politics in Healing by Daniel Haley (Former NY State Assemblyman), commented by Berkley Bedell (Former Congressman), and read the Fitzgerald Report by Benedict Fitzgerald of the US Dept. of Justice to the Senate Interstate Commerce Committee 1953, he/she would understand why the so-called scientific studies can't be trusted. It is very eye-opening and enraging reading, which IS BACKED UP BY COURT (of law) DOCUMENTS!!
EDTA does not work.
This book is complete nonsense and quackery.Supporters of chelation therapy claim that "numerous" scientific studies have been conducted "proving" the efficacy of EDTA therapy.Anybody with half a brain and the research skills of a 5th grader can tell you that these studies don't exist.What does exist is a mountain of anecdotal evidence that is thrown in our face to distract us from the paucity of hard evidence from clinically controlled randomized studies.
Chelaton Reading Resource of the Best
Of the several books and articles I have read about chelation therapy, this one is the best. It is perhaps not for the 101 lesson, as it is a bit more technical, so much so that medical doctors can read it with interest. It has many references to studies and background facts. Its a Bible on Chelation.

Bypassing Bypass
A very cogent, scholarly, current and relevant book. It helped me to make a critical decision to not undergo bypass surgery as recommended by my doctors.If you are forced to make the same decision, you must read this book before you decide.

Learning the truth
In 1974 as a senior at Kansas State College, finishing up my degree in Biology/Chemistry I chose for my senior research project "Cadmium poisoning in Blue Green Algae". In this study I learned, first hand, the value EDTA can have on living systems. Plant mitochondria and animal mitochondria operate in exactly the same way, producing energy for living systems. It happens that in the most fundamental "engine" of our bodies, the Krebs Cycle, living systems, both plant and animal, are vulnerable to heavy metal poisoning.
A MUST READ
This book is about the Chelation Therapy prcoess, but even more so, it is about how our bodies process elements from what we eat, and how we live our life and how the body processes substances, especially all the toxins that we comsume without even knowing it. There is alot of good statistical and medical information. And, why don't the vascular and cardiac specialists recommend this treatment in the cases where it could be very appropriate and life saving (as in the case of my mother which Chelation did save her from leg amputation!)?This book goes into some of the possible political reasons on the hush hush and widespread misconceptions about chelation practice.It is definiely a MUST READ. ... mostly a sales pitch
The book is useful if you already are interested in finding an ACAM physician doing chelation therapy.There is a list of ACAM physicians (mostly DO's) in the back or the book.The book is also useful if you are not in the medical field and you are interested in Chelation therapy.

Very interesting and thorough material on these two subjects, in particular. toxic metal syndrome

A Sham and a Fake
I tried this therapy....after several months of chelation, I had to have a stent...followed by another stent within 2 months, followed by a heart attack and a heart bypass...Have been fine for eight years since the bypass and no chelation....Need I say more?Stick with a REAL Doctor, do yourself a favor.Do your research and you'll find that both authors used to write every week for "The National Enquirer".Oh, one of the authors just died...from congestive Heart failure.Save your money.

Mind opening, life changing
Dr. Cranton's book was the first I had read about possibilities beyond what traditional medicine insists are the only alternatives: bypass, angioplasty, heart catheterization, etc.(Notice that all of these treatments hurt, are dangerous, and often don't work.)My husband had just had a mild heart attack; and we had the good fortune to be in touch with one of the contributors to Dr. Cranton's book, a cardiologist who took my husband as a patient.He describes traditional treatment as "The Widow Maker."We studied Cranton, began chelation, and are healthier, 6 years later, than we've been in 20 years.This is valid information about a non-invasive and non-painful process.

Required Reading!
In today's medical marketplace, Dr. Cranton's book should be Emmm- pseudoscientific piffle
I bought this book to give it a shot- Being trained in medicine one does tend to view these 'fringe therapies' with a distrust.But I thought I would approach it with an open mind.Read more

The Chelation Way
A must read book , for the health conscious person. The book arrived in fair condition. The back was broken , with many loose pages. Not a satisfied customers!

Butcher or not to Butcher that is the question?
If your having heart problems would you rather have those butchers rip your rib cage open, patch you up, and send you on your way without curing the root of your problem, which is clogged up arteries, and knowing that your problem is guaranteed to reoccur sometime down the road. Or would you rather go on an IV for a few hours, or try some oral Chelation techniques, and clean out those clogged arteries, and get on with life knowing that your problem will only reoccur if you continue to live a unhealthy lifestyle? A safe and inexpensive alternative to bypass
Bypass surgery is dangerous, expensive, and doesn't work very well. Chelation is safe, inexpensive and highly effective. Now what can possibly explain this? Hmm...maybe the difference between God and a doctor is that God doesn't think he's a doctor. Chelation, a technique that has been around for several decades, is done in a doctor's office: it cleans out arteries, and also pulls dangerous heavy metals from the body. It involves nothing more than putting an IV in the patient's arm for a couple of hours. If I was facing bypass surgery, I would certainly look into this. ... Read more

An excellent book, mainly for the serious student
This text by Halstead and Rozema contains extensive documentation on the scientific basis for EDTA chelation therapy.It is very detailed.I found the presentation somewhat repetitive and "dense", not reallysuited for the casual reader.As with any textbook, to understand in depththe material presented would require considerable study.Dr. Halstead isone of the original, and most brilliant, researchers and practitioners inthis area of chelation therapy; he brings to this edition a wealth ofknowledge and experience which will be invaluable for years to come.Dr.Rozema's practicality and extensive experience make the material useful andaccessible to those who are interested.This book is mainly for theserious student and practitioner, though anyone with aninterest in thisfield would be benefitted.I am not aware of any better overall treatiseon the subject. ...
