5-0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Book
I purchased this book recently. I have found the information in it simply amazing. Within a few days I have noticed an overall sense of well being and improvement to my health. And no I am not connected to the author in any way. It is just a very good book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Life-enhancing and practical
I've had this wonderful book for over 10 years, but only really began to apply the Internal Exercises after a trip to China. I saw a Qi Gong demonstration there and was very impressed, especially by the fact that the Qi Gong master looked all of 25 years old (I'm sure he was in his 40's at least). I began to practice Dr Chang's set of exercises faithfully on returning from the trip and have experienced increased energy, suppleness, better sleep, and clarity of mind. I was able to abandon my use of prescription antihistamines for allergies and now have no symptoms whatever. My nightly headaches, which were requiring nightly Tylenol, have also resolved. My endurance in sports, particularly alpine skiing, has increased without requiring increased preparatory workouts; and if I am diligent at doing the exercises after a workout, I experience no stiffness or soreness (something I'm starting to appreciate as an aging Baby Boomer!).5-0 out of 5 stars Exellent Book for General Health
My son bought me this book about 6 months ago and since then I have been in exellent health through doing the exersises. In my present job I do not have much time to exersise so I use this book to help me maintain a healthy mind and body. I would recommend this book to anyone. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Reference on the Evolving Health Care Landscape
Where is our nation's health-care system headed in the next decade? And how will we cope with the inevitable collision of rising costs, politics and human needs?
4-0 out of 5 stars Thoughts on Health and Health Care 2010
This is a very interesting prediction of what health care may hold for us this decade.I enjoyed reading forecasts of what the population will be like and their lifestyles, as well as buying habits. Health careers that will be booming were discussed as well as what medical advances will flourish. I found it interesting that this publication does not really predict a nursing shortage as everyone else is predicting. The discussion of insurance plan growth and changes was less interesting to this reader but necessary. ... Read more

I love this book. I use its medicine for almost everything from headaches to stomachaches. I would remained this book to anyone looking to an alternate root for medicine.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent beginner text book and quick reference...
I am fond of this book because it is the first of it's kind that I have read.It presents relevant information logically and doesn't go too far with the more advanced information. It is no replacement for a biochemisty degree, but it sure does help you learn about each plant and gives you a general knowledge of what it does and how. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars A lot of text but many unanswered questions
I take no issue with Christian Ratsch. He is a prolific writer and someone with influence in the world of ethnobotany. However, I want to write a valuable and honest review here. This book is enormous. I know of no other book worth buying that contains as many plants as this one (in relation to a mind enhancing context). In this regard, the book is highly valuable. There are also plenty of photos which give it an artistic quality.
5-0 out of 5 stars All in one place.
Save time and research. This book is huge and packed.Has information on just about any natural drug source legal or not. This book is so big and packed full of information it would be hard to ever get tired of thumbing through this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Trauma and the Body
This book is very informative and draws on the work of many of the most well-known and learned persons in this field. As a graduate student writing a dissertation on child abuse and its effects on adult survivors this book has proven to be a rich source of information, data, resources, and references.

5-0 out of 5 stars Essential reading in trauma work
To me this is one of the pioneering books of body-centered psychotherapy.Well-written, insightful with meaningful case examples. It shines, it teaches, and it directs therapist in their work in profound life-changing ways.I work with traumatized children and integrate animal assisted therapy - and this book has been re-read multiple times and applied in my work.
5-0 out of 5 stars Must Read Material!!
I stumbled onto this book researching PTSD.My husband and I have been to a dozen doctors (literally) who clearly do not know the information in this book; information that I have watched manifest itself beneficially and adversely as explained herein.Modern psychology has gotten lazy in its treatments of the very treatable mental illnesses, and critically needed intervention is shunned as unsubstantiated because the truth behind knowledge, education and an educated support system threatens their "expertise."This book should 'light you on fire' to aggressively pursue intelligent, supportive, proactive physicians and, need be, therapists. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Power is accessible to all.
Path of the Dream Healer: My Journey Through the Miraculous World of Energy Healing introduces the healing techniques of one Adam, named 'The Miracle Worker' by the international press. Adam is a college student with the power to heal - even across a continent. He can read auras and unblock energy. THE PATH OF THE DREAMHEALER continues a journey begin in DREAMHEALER and shows how this power is accessible to all.
5-0 out of 5 stars An important message given in Adam's books for everyone to benefit from :)
I first heard of Adam back in February 2006 when I got a Life Path reading from a very helpful tarot & tea leaf reader in Nanaimo. I have read all his books and even have his DVD :) He gets to the point and is sharing his knowledge and gift of healing that all of us can do. I really like how he shares his stories of his life and how he explains the Universal Energy in terms that have no specific religious origin. Everyone can benefit from this universal energy no matter what belief system you have. I highly recommend this book to all who went to better their lives and learn to heal themselves and others. If you continue on a positive path, those around you will do the same :)

5-0 out of 5 stars An indispensable book for everyone interested in homeopathy
A very well-researched, readable, and personable book on homeopathy.I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to know more about how powerfully effective homeopathy is.

5-0 out of 5 stars a fabulous book on many levels
Amy Lansky's book is so engaging and it's an inspiring, informative read! So many people are becoming involved with homeopathic practitioners in spite of the "haughty disrespect" still expressed by many in medicine and pharmacology. (Ms. Lansky quotes the biographer Rima Handley, who describes Christian Hahnemann, the creator of the homeopathic system, and the the "haughty disrespect" paid to him by medical authorities in 1810!)
5-0 out of 5 stars Discover homeopathy!
Anyone considering using homeopathy ought to read this book first. I am a tireless promoter of Amy's wonderful book because homeopathy has done so much to heal me and change my life. I have been cured of IBS, post-partum depression, insomnia, post-partum infection, and a variety of minor ailments, all using this system of infinitesimal dilutions of natural substances. Amy clears up much of the confusion that tends to cloud the reality of this powerful and, indeed, life saving alternative therapy. My favorite chapter is chapter 9, in which about a dozen dramatic cure stories are shared. Read about the full reversal of advanced Alzheimer's disease, a rescue from certain death from Arsenic poisoning, and many other examples of the body's ability to heal itself. Please do read it and discover homeopathy, the safest, most complete medicine available to mankind. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book!
I suffer from both RA and Ankylosing Spondolitis.I found out through this program that I cannot eat wheat, milk or dairy products, eggs, sugar or coffee. When I'm good at sticking to it, I'm almost in complete remission. When I cheat, I pay for it. Within 20 minutes of consuming one of the above items, my fingers begin to swell and get stiff, and by the next morning I'm in a lot of pain. I have been able to stop taking the Methatrexate and Lodin which were very hard on the liver and destroyed my immune system. This is a really great program and it works if you have the discipline and self motivation to go through it and stick it out. If you are completely lazy and looking for an easy fix, this may not be for you. It's hard!It has been hard for me to give up coffee, Lucky Charms for breakfast, hot chocolate, cookies and some other comfort foods. But in the end I have a lot of new favorites, my inflamation and pain have disappeared, I've lost weight and my skin looks fabulous to boot. God bless Barbara Allan! She's an angel.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not for Everyone
Maybe i'm being shortshighted, but i feel as if the many concessions i already have to make with this disease are hard enough to incorporate into my daily life, without also including such intense dietary changes.I work full-time, including travel and client entertainment making it very difficult to always control every morsel i consume.also, don't share the author's background and early diagnosis symptoms.Mine are coming more slowly and i am entrusting my treatment and long-term care to my Rheumy.Sort of wish I had spent the money on a good yoga or meditation tape instead.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Must Have Book for People with Chronic Health Problems
There are a number of books about Food Intolerances that are invaluable to people who have chronic health problems without knowing the cause of their problems.Since physicians are often ignorant in the area of Type III or Delayed Onset Food Intolerance, these books are often the only hope for people to regain their good health and in many cases their lives.Barbara Allen in her book Conquering Arthritis contributes detailed information to the topic that I have not seen in any other book. Her own story is inspiring and her systematic approach to solving her personal health crisis mystery is a blueprint for others to find their personal way back to good health. To her credit she did not only fight and win her own battle with ignorance, pain and deteriorating health but had the drive and compassion to get the message out there to help all of us with her excellent research and conclusions.I was diagnosed with IBS and Fibromyalgia and Arthritis and Insomnia and Chronic Fatigue and CTS and was offered lots of prescription drugs, some of which I took for a while, but nothing helped like avoiding the foods to which I am allergic.Barbara Allen made me aware of hidden additives in foods and vitamins that I needed to stop eating but that I would not have suspected. Thanks for sharing, Barbara Allen!!! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars A great little review book
I really recommend buying this book. It's better than Mosby's Review, because it actually simplifies the concepts for you. I didn't get a feeling of being overwhelmed when I studied from this book. It's a good review for anatomy in general. It gives a great overview of each system, and I love that it went over contraindications for each disorder/disease too(very important). The only thing it is lacking would be information on Modalities. There just isn't enough. I got at least 4 or 5 questions(it may not seem like a lot, but it is, trust me) on Aromatherapy and essential oils (which ones do what, etc.) on my NCE, and if it weren't for my essential oil-addicted teacher in class, I wouldn't have had a clue about aromatherapy.
1-0 out of 5 stars This is not needed for the TN test for NCBTMB
Nothing from this book is on the test. Yes it is a good book but if you are looking for a good study guide to take the test in TN please look elsewhere I know it has cost me another 225.00 to retake the test!

3-0 out of 5 stars Disappointed.....
I purchased this book a few months ago, because of the reviews on Amazon. I used this study guide, made a few hundred flash cards and aced the review exams, but on the day I actually took the National Exam I failed. I was blown away by the difference between the type of questons asked on the exam vs. how I thought it was going to be from this review book. Yes, it was helpful to a degree, but I wouldn't bother purchasing save your money and spend it somewhere else. It is misleading.

5-0 out of 5 stars Atlas of Chinese Tongue Diagnosis Volume 1
As a medical professional, I have an interest in what works to bring health to the system. At times, alternative medicines when appropriately applied, in the hands of the right people, ones trained in health care and disease, can offer stimulating results. But the question of how to obtain reliable material to diagnose and treat a disease remains a current issue. This book helps bridge the gap between Chinese diagnostics and the Western approach to disease.Atlas of Chinese Tongue Diagnosis provides visual illustrations of various ailments, mapped outwardly on the tongue, and includes written descriptions and symptoms. When applicable, it correlates the topography of the tongue to Western disease. However, the book is not all inclusive. It lacks treatment.I would suggest a companion, Radiant Health by Ron Teeguarden.Teeguarden's work covers portions of the ancient Chinese art of health and offers a treatment program designed to correct deficencies and disturbances in Qi.The two together provide a reliable source for a medical professional to understand and apply the basics in Chinese medicine.I highly rate this book when accompanied with Teeguarden's.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent atlas of tongue diagnosis
This is an excellent book for anyone interested in Chinese tongue diagnosis. The book is divided into sections according to pattern (Kidney disharmonies, Stomach and Spleen disharmonies, etc). Each section contains approximately 30 full-color, well-photographed tongues representing the pattern. This makes it easy to see the range of tongue signs for each pattern. Also, the description of the tongue, the patient's symptoms, Western diagnosis and Chinese diagnosis are printed next to the photo of the tongue for easy reference.(You don't have to flip back and forth between the text pages and the color plates, as in Maciocia's Tongue Diagnosis in Chinese Medicine.)This book isn't cheap, but the quality of the photographs and the clear description of the tongues makes it a very worthwile investment. ... I found this book after googling a bunch of different things, and came across these reviews.Lots of good reviews, a few negative ones.Well, I noticed that all the negative ones were either people who hadn't actually tried it or people who didn't really stick with it.You can't rate a book negatively if you don't follow the program.

I highly recommend this book, it works and it's the BEST.Even though I hadn't followed most of the recommendations like the enemas and baths it still worked for me just due to the diet change. What I would suggest also is to try to personalize it more, by finding out what works for you with diet.. mostly concerning laxatives, as for me most of them perscribed didnt' work (I guess my system is quite hard) so I explored around and found out that for me things like fresh papaya, dry figs, dates, eggs, and moloukhia (a green spinach like plant popular in the middle east) also other foods that are cleansing and remove toxins are good to increase, then decreasing the starches and adding more fruits, veggies and such foods into the diet really works.
1-0 out of 5 stars WHAT A HORRIBLE TRICK!
For years now, my best friend and ex-boyfriend of almost four years has been suffering from severe psorasis, as well as psoriatic arthritis. He had been through several doctors and has tried multiple kinds of treatments, ranging from with or without a combination of photolight therapy, sun and water therapy, topical treatments, and systemics (Methotrexate, Soriatane, etc).A few months ago, I discovered Dr. Pagano's book and shared this information with him. After having read the book, he decided to really dedicate himself to the diet and everything Dr. Pagano had stated in the book, such as the monthly visits to Dr. Pagano, the olive oil, the flaxseed oil pills, the peanut oil baths, the 50/50 combination of the peanut oil and olive oil, etc.For a few weeks only, it worked wonderfully. It seemed to be working for him, but after those few weeks, he broke out.Dr. Pagano had stated that he would have a break out before it would get better because the "toxins" were trying to leave the body, but after his psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis kept getting worse, Dr. Pagano finally told him that he would have to go back on phototherapy and systemics (Methotrexate). For a little over two months, because of this diet, he had the worst break out ever.He literally broke out all over his body, even on his face and neck!I truly believe that this diet would work for those that are only suffering from mild to moderate psoriasis, but for those suffering from severe psoriasis, I suggest that you beware! If you see yourself breaking out too much and for too long of a period, maybe you should try a different treatment. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Very user friendly energy tips
I bought this kit on the recommendation of other reviews - always wonder if they are genuine. They were very accurate. This is a great package.I am a tactile therapist and use energy within my treatments. These dvd, book, cards and cd present many energy techniques in a simple and accessible format.Great to use for myself and I have been passing on some techniques to clients already.I am very happy with my purchase.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tried it and WOWit worked for me
This kit arrived for my birthday and I used the cut-glass crystal as instructed and could really feel and even see the interaction of the spinning crystal with my finger energy. I could feel tingling in my meridians and more energy. The crystal is not used as a pendulum but is twisted to make it spin over key areas.Really very intriguing and effective. Then I had to do other things and got in at 10 pm.Thought I would watch the DVD.Did the exercises along with the DVD.Then thought I'd do some internet research. Got up to stretch and thought the clock must have stopped. It was 4 am and I didn't feel tired at all!I was so energized that Ihardly slept even when I got to bed.Had to get up at 8 am so thought, well, I'll do the exercizes I learned to help me through the day since I didn't sleep hardly at all.I had a great day and was extremely energetic.People commented. And I am a person who is tired all the time and gets sick from missing sleep! I love this stuff and am amazed how incredibly well it worked! But in the future I will certainly be more careful about charging up before going to bed!
5-0 out of 5 stars A Must-Have!
I use and teach these energy exercises to all my energy therapy (Emotional Freedom Technique) clients and, of course, myself daily. This kit has valuable tools. Anyone who is interested in energy and/or emotional healing should have this. I highly recommend it! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Faith Building, Faith Inspiring, Faithfully True
Coming from a Fundamental Baptist background, I was extremely skeptical about this book and the ideas in it.I must admit though when I reasoned with my spirit and not my mind, I could truly understand the Biblical relevance of healing and miracles for today! After applying the principles taught in this book, my husband's legs have grown to be even, his spine was straightened, my arms are now the same length, my spine has straightened, and my husband has administered healing to others as well.Excellent, excellent book.Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Dissapointingly Deceiving
If you are in search of an autobiography of a dedicated and intrinsically emotional scientist, then this is the book for you. However, if truly interested in the actual neuroscience this book claims to teach, search for a more nonfictional and scientific work.Pithy factual information of such molecules of emotion is obstructed with unnecessary personal dramatics and stories loosely tied to the intended subject matter. While the book provides insight to the life of a cutting-edge scientist, the autobiographical nature obscures the supposed purport of the book: to teach the neuroscience of emotions.

5-0 out of 5 stars Molecules of Emotion
This is an outstanding book by an outstanding woman who's science has had, or should have, an enormous impact on our knowledge of what and how we really are.
5-0 out of 5 stars Thanks for scientific support!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Life Saver for Pain Suffers and Everyone Else
My cranial sacral therapist had given me xeroxed copies of these particular yoga poses that she felt would help me while I got my body straightened out. She took them from an old book that she had had. I started doing the poses but did not stick to them on a regular basis. However, I was still curious if I could somehow find the book. After a successful search online, I found the book and immediately ordered it. I must say it is fascinating to read how the Colonel explain these five particular Tibetan ancient exercises changed his life and made him look much younger than his age. The Colonel traveled through some forbidden Tibetan territory, enduring mountainous onstacles in search of this ageless monk society. The exercises are simple and do detox your system. You must be cautious and not overdo yourself in the fist couple of weeks. I love this book and will refer many people to it. It sure beats enduring an operation which may or may not cure you. It is simply another part of the growing search for alternative medicine and lfe styles.

1-0 out of 5 stars Hyped
This is pure hype. Peter Kelder never wrote a book called Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth. It's title is The Eye of Revelation and has been published by Borderland Sciences since as early at 1975. These rites are very effective. There has been some recent research into what makes these simple exercises so powerful.
5-0 out of 5 stars I like it...
I don't know if this program is going to turn me into a 22 year old again, but I find the exercises worth the 5-10 minutes a day to do.They help promote flexibility and strength.
